Granddaughter's Barrel Horse
My granddaughter has gone off to college, and left me with her beloved barrel racing horse. She is an 8 year old AQHA proven winner. Her name is Flash. She stands well for farrier, loads on trailer, bathes, clips, no problems at all. Has been used as a horse for beginner riding lessons. 100% bomb proof and no vices.
I am getting up in age and no longer am I able to care for the horse the way it should be cared for since my granddaughter is not here to do it for me.
This horse is worth over $3,000 but I am giving it away to the best possible home.
Be prepared to provide the following to even be considered:
If you have other horses, I will need a copy of their vaccination/coggins, and they must be current.
Will want to know if this horse will be kept in a pasture or stall - if pasture, the pasture size and run in shelter size, as well as how many other horses will share the same pasture.
Prefer not to give to someone who is boarding, but rather someone who owns the pasture the horse will be staying in.
Prefer to give to someone with kids so the animal will be loved and cared for for many years to come.
Will want to know the name of your vet and farrier, which I will call to see if you are caring for your horses the way that you should.
Will want to know the kind of feed you are feeding, how often, and if you are feeding hay and what kind of hay.
Will want to know the address of where the horse will be living so I can check it out before agreeing to give you the horse.
Will want to know how many years of experience you have as a rider and you will be required to demonstrate your horsemanship skills and ride Flash with me watching.
Will want to verify your employment status to make sure you are able to financially handle the sometimes unexpected vet bills, feed, hay, etc.
Please understand the only reason I need to see all these records for your other horses is to make sure there will be no issue with Flash getting sick.
I also want to make sure this horse goes to the best possible home. I am sure I will receive many emails, but will be very picky about who the horse goes to.
When you email me, please include all the information I have asked for above, or you will not be considered.
No horse traders or people that get horses for free to only turn around and re-sell them. I will only included the AQHA registration papers if I feel as though you will take great care of my granddaughters baby.
I will also want to be able to come and see the horse at anytime and may bring my granddaughter as well.
This horse was raised as a baby and professionally trained for barrel racing. She really is part of our family, so only the best home will get her.

will become dirty as any other product exposed to atmospheric conditions. A heavy rain will
do wonders in cleaning it, or you can wash it down with an ordinary garden hose. If neither
rain nor hosing does a satisfactory job, just follow these easy instructions.
1. Use an ordinary, long-handled car washing brush. This type of brush has soft bristles, and the handle fastens onto the end of your hose, which allows you to wash the product just like you wash your car. Avoid using stiff-bristled brushes.
2. If the dirt is hard to remove, such as soot grime found in industrial areas, wipe down the product with the following solution: 1 cup of "Simple Green" and 1 gallon of water, (if extremely dirty, mix solution 1/2 and 1/2). This solution can be put into a spray bottle & sprayed on, then wipe immediately with a soft cloth. Or mix 1/3 cup powdered detergent, 2/3 cup household cleaner, and 1 gallon water.
3. If stubborn stains exist, use the following chart. Follow the precautionary labeling on the container. Protect shrubs from contact with cleaning agents.
