Sovereign Consulting Inc., a rapidly growing environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ, is seeking Environmental Professionals (3 – 7 yrs exp.) for its Virginia Beach, VA location.

Typical project work will include site assessment, site investigation and site remediation activities such as: field data collection, drilling supervision, remedial feasibility testing, aquifer testing, data analysis, technical report preparation, and regulatory agency as well as client interaction. All positions will include field and office tasks as client and project requirements dictate.

Candidates must have a BS/BA in Geology, Engineering, Env. Science or related field, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, technical writing capabilities and maintain a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be disciplined and self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal guidance and supervision. Prior 40-Hour OSHA (29 CFR 1910.120) HAZWOPER health and safety training and current 8-hour refresher are preferred.

Employment at Sovereign is contingent upon the results of a Drug & Alcohol screening test and a pre-placement medical evaluation that determines candidate’s ability to capably and safely perform the proposed job duties. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Calibration/Engineering Technician - 2 Immediate Openings Available (Newport News, VA)

ACR Environmental Services has an immediate opening for 3 full-time Calibration Technicians at our Newport News, A2LA-accredidated, calibration laboratory. The ideal candidate will be able perform calibration and/or repair on general purpose and/or specialized measuring test equipment with minimal supervision. This is a team atmosphere, primarily, in a laboratory environment with occasional travel to customer sites.

Position requires US Citizenship for security clearance purposes. Must have an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain one.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical - Performs calibrations and repair in the following skill areas, as applicable:
• Electronic standards and test equipment
• Pressure, Flow, Force, and Torque equipment
• Oscilloscopes, Waveform analysis, Phase, and Distortion
• RF/microwave power, frequency, and VSWR equipment
• Vibration and Sound equipment
• Temperature and Humidity equipment
• Voltage, Current, Resistance, and Impedance equipment
• General purpose and specialized military test equipment
• Physical / Dimensional measurement devices

Communication, Organization and Interaction - Regularly interacts with other technicians and or customers. Interaction normally requires exchange or presentation of factual information, often as a specialist in a particular technical area.

Must be organized and able to handle multiple projects at one time.
Must be able to accomplish assigned tasks in the time budgeted for completion.
Must have the capability to generate written memos, letters, technical reports, procedure manuals, and work instructions for customer Quality System requirements.

Responsibility, Accountability and Decision Making – Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments, and applies job skills, company policies, and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
·Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PME) or TMDE gained through the Navy/Air Force/Army/Marine Corp is highly desirable and/or minimum of an Associates Degree, preferably in a technical discipline specific to calibration with 4+ years of experience.
·Must have a strong mathematical aptitude.
·Must have a strong knowledge base in Physical Sciences.
·Must be able to read schematics and identify components.
·Must be able to travel to offsite customer locations.
·Must possess good analytical and PC skills.
·Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
·Occasional standing and bending may be required.
·Must possess a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
·Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
