Illustrations Wanted (Hudson Valley)

We are opening a new chapter of a national LARP (live action roleplaying game) and are actively soliciting artists interested in depicting High Fantasy scenes in exchange for credit and a testimonial/reference letter for your portfolio. While we cannot pay you cash, this is a great opportunity for someone that would like to expand their portfolio and have a glowing reference to offer potential future clients.

In order to translate well to an electronic form, we're primarily seeking inked black/white art on a white background. If you have another skill that will scan well, please don't hesitate to let me know! We do prefer traditional art over digital generation, but will consider both.

We're looking for the following types of drawings:
• Blacksmithing, Creating Alchemy, Studying, Farming, Daily Life of various races/kingdoms
• Ritual casting, walking through portals, battle magic, anything to do with High Fantasy magic scenes
• Scenes from famous stories, wars, battles, etc.
• Scenes dealing with artifacts and the stories related to them from specific races
• Bar/tavern scenes
• Race packet portraits, male and female, individual and group to depict clothing, style, etc.
• Ruling councils, rulers, classes, etc.
• Marriage ceremonies from certain races
• Festivals as described in race packets
• Specific monstrous creatures mentioned in various race packets
• Anything that makes sense in the game world that I’ve forgotten to list here

-Artwork must be pre-approved (i.e. content specifics) to be considered for inclusion.. this is only to assure that all pieces will match the campaign setting and racial specifics for our campaign.
-All pieces need to be submitted by December 23,2009 in order to be included (and credited) in the Players' Guide.

this magazine comes out three times a year so it can be a great oppurtunity for the right person.

Animation Needed for Short Film (Hudson Valley)

We are looking for someone to help us create an animation for a short film being produced in the Hudson Valley. Produced by Award-winning filmmakers, this short will show in film festivals next year.

We have a small budget, so we can't pay much but we'll have a little something to pay you. We welcome students and others who may need to add something to their resume and reel and get some good exposure for their work. Might be a good project for a student to work on during winter break. About 1 minute or less of animation is all we need. Can be done on Flash or other similar program. Other methods such as hand drawn animations could be cool too.

We are looking for coverage of sporting events (football games, field hockey, soccer, Fall tennis, etc, etc)

We are also looking for coverage of different types of school events (ie, pep rallies, homecoming events, in-school candids, as well as groups/clubs, etc)

The ideal candidate (we're looking for 2-3 photographers at present) will have some experience with photography of sporting events and human events, as well as will own photography equipment; (suggested equipment: Nikon-based DSLR with flash equipment, and applicable lenses, 18:70, and 70:300 preferred)

We're willing to work with you on a specific compensation rate for your skills; Compensation usually starts (for novice photographers) at $50/assignment, but is negotiable depending on experience, availability and ability to quickly submit images.

Work as much or as little as you'd like! We have flexibility, and are looking for similar flexibility of schedule and eagerness for supplemental earning potential.

If you have had any experience that would be helpful, but we are willing to train.
