You are bidding on one (1) RARE PREMIERE EDITION FIRST OFFICIAL PRESIDENTIAL CONSERVATION PRINT- Signed by President Gerald Ford in 1991 + Signed Letter. This beautiful art piece is signed not only by President Ford but by the artist Helen Rundell as well. The print is that of the eastern Timberwolf standing on a cliff-titled: On The Edge-Eastern Timberwolf. In October 1991, Ex-president Gerald R. Ford endorsed The First Presidential Conservation Print. His personal effort assisted preservation efforts of Isle Royale National Park and the Wild Canid Survival and Research Center, which was founded by Dr. Marlin Perkins.This piece was the first edition in a program that was supposed to continue for years & have a different President sign a different print each year, but the funding never materialized so that a limited number of this print were made & the program never continued. Included along with the framed print is a letter, an explanation of the program & a gold color authenticity medal with the same number as the print (402/5000). They never were 5000 made but I am not sure how many actually were. I actually called the artist and spoke to her on the phone about this piece. The print has been mounted and professionally framed. The overall size of the print is 19 x 16. The frame is a solid oak frame with custom matting as seen in the scan measuring 26 x 26.5. The frame has a custom envelope made on the back for the original paper work and envelope to slide into. The print, the frame, and glass are in excellent condition. Please see pictures for details, this is a fabulous very unique piece. This a must for any President Ford fan. These print sets have gone for $7000 or more at auctions though out the US prior to Gerald Ford's death.
