"The Tasteful Palette" MSU Kresge Art Museum (Holt) $12

This is a new. never used copy of "The Tasteful Palette" which is a spiral-bound cookbook from the MSU Kresge Art Museum. It has a copyright date of 1997 and I purchased several copies around that time as part of a museum fund-raiser for education and outreach activities. I have a copy in my cookbook collection and always intended to give this one as a gift. Since I have not done so, I am putting it up for sale at a reduction from the $19.95 new price. This cookbook is filled with more than 300 wonderful recipes contributed by members of the Greater Lansing community and beyond. It also contains 50 illustrations from the Kresge Art Museum collection and local artists at that time.

Okemos Library Book Sale - Nov. 21 and 22 (Okemos, MI 48864)

The Friends of Okemos Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, November 21 from 9am to 4pm and Sunday, November 22 from 9am - 1pm at the Meridian Senior Center on Kinawa Drive at 4000 Okemos Road, Okemos, MI 48864. Follow the "BOOK SALE" signs to the sale.

Current members of the Friends of the Okemos Library can shop early on November 21 from 8:30 to 9am. Memberships will be available at the door for a nominal fee.

Thousands of gently used and new donated books (no library discards) from all categories will be sold with most books priced from .50 to $2. We will also have a large selection of DVD's, CD's, audio books and antique/collectible items.

On Sunday, November 22, all remaining books will sell for $3 per bag.

3 Large tubs of old books (East Lansing) $75

5 Large Boxes of Comic Books, Great Condition! Great Price! (South Lansing) $500

I have 5 long boxes of comics, and about 30 more that don't fit in a box. There are roughly 300-350 comic books per box (at $1 a piece you'd triple your money, the majority of these are more valuable than that). All of these comics are bagged and boarded, but there are some old larger newsprint ones that are only bagged. They range from the late 60's to the present. I have a limited amount of space for my collection and these are all books that I would keep if I still had room for them.

There are roughly 300-350 comic books per box (the boxes say 350, but I don't have them all tightly squeezed together.) There are way too many to give a detailed list. Although I have a partial list that I started, it's on paper and not on the computer anymore, and it only contains my Marvel comics.

This is a sample of comics included. Keep in mind that there are many great ones that I don't have room to include in this list. 40+ issue run of "Birds of Prey", entire runs of "52" and "Countdown", entire series of "Civil War"& "Secret Invasion" and many tie-in issues. Runs of recent "Spider-Man" (like The Other, Civil War, One More Day, Brand New Day, The "Reign" Miniseries), Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Many independent titles (dark horse, image, etc.) Doctor Strange (early 80's), Tales of Suspense, TV Tornado (British comics with Flash Gordon, Tarzan, The Phantom, Etc.), The first edition of the first 4 issues of Kick-Ass (and Issue 6), Tons and Tons more.

These are not boxes full of crap, these comics are in really great condition, have been taken well care of, and are shining examples of the art form.
