• Education and/or experience: High School Diploma or GED; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language skills: Fluent in English language. Read and understand safety rules and test procedures in English; able to communicate test and safety information and instructions in written and spoken English.
• Computer skills: Able to use a PC with Microsoft Office applications and Internet Explorer. Ability to type a minimum of 75 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy. Proficiency in both alpha and numeric entry, with emphasis on alpha.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Keen attention to detail; good organizational skills with the ability to follow instructions.
• Certificates, Licenses and registrations: Must have a Valid Driver’s License and must pass a seven (7) year reference check. When required to drive: no DUI for last five (5) years and no points on driving record.

Description:
Lied Discovery Children’s Museum seeks an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated full-time Reservationist/Administrative Assistant to handle receptionist, reservations and provide administrative support to the Deputy Director. The position reports to the Deputy Director. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a multi-line reception phone answering general inquires and screening, fielding and forwarding calls. S/He will take and oversee the reservation process for museum programs (birthday parties, school/group trips, etc.). S/He will process payments for reservations, report daily income activity, prepare deposits and process and distribute the mail. S/He will provide administrative support on projects as assigned.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a receptionist, reservationist and/or administrative assistant. Detail oriented; prompt, excellent attendance and a self-starter; excellent organizational, written and verbal communication and customer service skills; typing speed of at least 50-60 wpm; proficient with Microsoft Office Package; proficient with office machines/equipment (fax, postage machine, copier, etc.) and clerical skills (filing, mail distribution, completing daily reconciliation forms, etc.).
