First, the evidence at Michael’s trial established that the end of March 2008, Michael and his platoon were out at the Iraqi police station. Part of Michael’s area of responsibility was to insure that the police station in Al Butoma, which had been bombed once before, was protected and had proper perimeter security. While at the Iraqi police station Michael received a call from the intelligence officer at the FOB, telling him that a source just reported that Ali Mansur, an Iraqi policeman, was organizing the placing of an IED in the roadway to hit the platoon as the platoon left the police station. Michael was told to take another route home. Mansur was not able to get the platoon in March, but as you know Mansur successful in hitting Michael’s platoon on April 21, 2008.

Michael also asked that I share with you the attached military intelligence report. The report was written after the IED attack on Michael’s platoon. It is an unclassified version of a classified document. In the report it identifies that Al Qaeda was responsible for the hit on Michael’s platoon and further states that Ali Mansur was a member of that Al Qaeda cell. Michael wanted me to share the report with you, he didn’t say why, although I think he wanted you to know that Ali Mansur was not just some innocent detainee, he was a dangerous terrorist who had successfully killed two American soldiers and seriously injured two others on April 21. I think knowing these facts, it makes it harder for Michael to understand why he is where he is. I told Michael that it is a sad day in our nation’s history when we label a member of Al Qaeda as a victim and label an American soldier who was defending himself in a combat zone, murderer.

Need advice on Purging (Vegas)

I know this is going to sound crazy especially to those who don't have addictions or willing to admit they have one. I'm just wondering if there is another way to get your food up with out putting your finger down your thoat. I know this is not good and I'm aware of all the health issues it can cause which is why I hardly ever do it. But there are times that I get so frustrated with my addiction to over eat especially after I've been doing so good with controling it then I go off the deep end which is when I just want to purge the food up. I have been having a weight issue for over 27 years now and I have lost and gained the same 50 lbs about 10 times so you can only imagine how tired I am of this. I just can't get my need to overeat in control, and of course I'm overeating the wrong foods. I hate this problem with a passion and I know I'm going to die trying to win this battle because I refuse to give up on getting the weight off and keeping it off. I also know it's not healhy and I also don't like being over weight. I feel so much better when I'm about 50 lbs lighter but for some strange reason feeling good is not enough to make me not over eat. I currently work out 4-5 days a week, hating every minute of it but as I said I keep trying. I will do great with controling my eating for weeks then I go on these damn binges that will cause me to put on what ever weight I tried so hard to get off right back on. I know "crazy" you have know idea how to stupid this is to me and makes me feel what the hell is wrong with my brain. How the hect could you want something so bad and go after it and even accomplish it to only fail at it and have to start all over. And do this time and time again. So fricken dumb to me but for the life of me I don't know why I can't get this under control...There are times where I wish I had a different addiction because I notice people who have other addictions don't have an issue with food. I actually envy them because they are not controlled by food. I know this is crazy but this is how I feel after dealing with this same issue all my adult life..I've been on every diet, taken all sorts of diet pills and then gave all that up and just learned how to eat healthier and exercise and nothing seems to work long term. F__ck I just want to be normal and not worry about this crap for once in my life. I have totally fu__ked up by body with all this up and down weight loss and my metabalism is so messed up it takes me for ever to loose 5 lbs...So now I'm ready to just purge this crap up because if I can loose the weight and keep it off for a few years due to purging I will be happy just enjoy being smaller for a few years even if the purging kills me!!!

The results of a series of randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials assessing the efficacy of inhaled marijuana consistently show that cannabis holds therapeutic value comparable to conventional medications, according to the findings of a 24-page report issued earlier today to the California state legislature by the California Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR).

Four of the five placebo-controlled trials demonstrated that marijuana significantly alleviated neuropathy, a difficult to treat type of pain resulting from nerve damage.

“There is good evidence now that cannabinoids (the active compounds in the marijuana plant) may be either an adjunct or a first-line treatment for … neuropathy,” said Dr. Igor Grant, Director of the CMCR, at a news conference at the state Capitol. He added that the efficacy of smoked marijuana was “very consistent,” and that its pain-relieving effects were “comparable to the better existing treatments” presently available by prescription.

A fifth study showed that smoked cannabis reduced the spasticity associated with multiple sclerosis. A separate study conducted by the CMCR established that the vaporization of cannabis – a process that heats the substance to a temperature where active cannabinoid vapors form, but below the point of combustion – is a “safe and effective” delivery mode for patients who desire the rapid onset of action associated with inhalation while avoiding the respiratory risks of smoking.

Two additional clinical trials remain ongoing.

The CMCR program was founded in 2000 following an $8.7 million appropriation from the California state legislature. The studies are some of the first placebo-controlled clinical trials to assess the safety and efficacy of inhaled cannabis as a medicine to take place in over two decades.

Has the very notion of liberty been so diluted in this great nation that no-one is willing to decry this as the naked government power grab that it is? Must every American now ask government permission to get a job? Think what you will about undocumented immigration, is ending it so important that every single American must be entered into a massive government database and given an ID they must present when applying for a job?
