We are seeking a CMT AND/OR a Geotechnical Department Manager to oversee the operations in either Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Geotechnical Services Groups. We are looking for an outstanding leader with significant experience within the construction materials and the geotechnical engineering sectors. The Department Manager is an industry-recognized individual that provides leadership for staff development, expansion of our existing work services, and development of new technical services. The successful candidate must have experience identifying, winning, and leading geotechnical and CMT consulting projects along with the desire to attract and lead other professionals. This position will manage client relationships and contracts that may include complex, multi-disciplinary projects. The Department Manager is responsible for directing business development, technical excellence, presentations, planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, safety, and hiring and mentoring of staff. Technical expertise will include significant knowledge in all areas of CMT or Geotechnical services.



Requirements:

  • Must be a P.E.


  • Minimum of 8-10 yrs of proven experience managing in a civil engineering firm with an emphasis in geotechnical and/or materials testing


  • Proven record of successful collaboration, teaming, marketing, client relationship management, technical leadership, and fiscal accountability


  • BSCE/MSCE

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY (LAS VEGAS)

Las Vegas, NV Manufacturer is sourcing for a Electrical Engineer for our local client. This position will implement customer focused processes and support daily production through training, documentation, process development & maintenance; team oriented problem solving, ECN's, FMEA's and PPAP management.


SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:


MUST BE OPEN TO RELOCATION TO LAS VEGAS, NV.

• Continually improve current manufacturing processes.

• Develop and maintain required machine specifications, change over and set up documentation, operating instructions, training to standards and certification.

• Assist with RFQ cost estimation for prototypes, new products, processes, tooling and capital expenditures.

• Participate in the design, development, testing, prototype builds and product or new project launch functions.

• Capable of rendering complete designs with SolidWorks and archival using PDMWorks software.

• Support and provide technical assistance.

• Manage new products according to customer requirements within the quality system.

• Support daily production through training, documentation, process development & maintenance; team oriented problem solving, ECN's, FMEA's and PPAP management.

• Design, develop and document all equipment, machines, tooling by prints, specifications, bills of materials, ECN's and QC layouts.

• Design, develop and document quick - change tooling, processes and related work instructions.

• Document and develop maintenance of all set up, change over and related work instructions.

• Document all process development and maintenance by use of the ECN procedure.

• Document all team oriented problem solving and other meetings.

• Actively use and maintain FMEA's and SPC data to insure timely proactive engineering response and support.

• Document design for manufacturability, (DFM) for new and existing products and processes.

• Responsible for day-to-day technical line and machine readiness.

• Train, coach, mentor, and on call support or assistance to production and maintenance groups.

• Schedule and update timelines as to project or production issues progress.

• Develop and document machine cycle times, ergonomics and VAlVE analysis.

• Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, QS 9000 and ISO TS-16949 techniques.

• Provide technical expertise for improvement of existing processes.

• Assist in capital analysis for special projects and cost justifications for proposed expenditures.

• Develop in-house expertise in assigned areas and projects as required.



POSITION QUALIFACTIONS:

MUST HAVE PLC EXPERIENCE (PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC COMPUTER)
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical and/or Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Knowledge with ASME Y 14.5 - 1994 and related Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (G.D. & T) standards.

• Demonstrated knowledge of prototype builds, PPAP and APQP production launch requirements.

• Customer support and supplier development experience.

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and codes applicable in the automotive industry.

• Strong problem solving skills / root cause analysis mindset.

• Familiar with concepts of lean manufacturing / TPS techniques.

• Familiar with variety of efficient, practical process concepts and procedures.

• Industrial engineering / cost engineering experience.

• Familiar with current QMS system and documentation

Bilingual in Japanese/English a huge plus!!!

This position will be responsible for recommending injection molded part design modifications, optimization of injection mold design and molding process conditions. In addition, the person in this position will act as a mentor of plastics engineering principles to other Development Engineers and Designers.

Requirements:
A minimum of a B.S. degree in Polymers Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
Experience with injection molding field, 3-5 years of experience in plastics engineering including flow simulation using Moldflow software, plastic part design, and injection mold design.
Demonstrated understanding and successful application of plastics engineering principles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
Experience in creating/modifying 3D solid models in NX is preferred, but not necessary.
