SUMMARY: The Live Operations Nutritionist is responsible for the collection, analysis, and processing of all data as it relates to bird nutrition, performance, and feed procurement.

DEPARTMENT: Live Operations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze data related to nutrition, feed ingredients, and bird diets as they relate to bird growth, performance, and costs
• Assist with grain procurement
• Communicate directly with nutritionists and feed mills in formulation of diets and rations
• Read trends, define problems and recommend solutions. Design and implement studies
• Analyze and study logistics. Improve company efficiencies relating to the same
• Visits and communication with vendors including feed mills
• Assures compliance relative to the company’s’ various certifications (antibiotic free and government regulation)
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
• Reports to: Vice President of Live Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to collect, process, and analyze data.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• High level of organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to manage and implement his or her plans and solutions
• Define problems, establish facts, ask questions and make recommendations
• Computer skills, MS Word, Excel, Data Base, and e-mail
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
• High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Possess valid driver’s license
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelors degree in poultry nutrition, animal nutrition, animal science, accounting, veterinarian science, actuarial science, mathematics, or related field preferred
• Master’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of poultry nutrition and veterinarian science preferred
