I would really like people to reconsider posting animals as "free to a good home" people would do anything to hurt innocent animals and it hurts so much looking at all the animals on here but if someone wants your pet they will be willing to pay a "rehoming fee" I am the biggest animal lover in the whole world, I know that everyone on here hopes that their animals are going to good homes but people DO lie and cheat their way to do anything to hurt helpless pets. I can't stand the thought of a poor defenseless creature being hurt, tortured, or even killed for the sport or "fun" of a sick twisted person. I might sound ridiculous but what would you say if I told you I was a 17 year old just hoping animals go to a loving home, would that make a difference? at least do it for your pet, look in their eyes and picture someone trying to hurt them, now imagine you posted a small adoption fee? someone would be less willing.

please, there is no need to be desperate, someone will adopt your pet! I would take in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM if i could

We unfortunatly have to get rid of our german shepherd due to our work schedules its not fair to him to get the excercise and companionship he needs. He is fixed and up to date on all shots and also went to obedience training as a puppy so he is very well behaved and knows commands. He loves children we have a 1 year old that crawls all over him and he never shows aggression rarely barks and loves other dogs. His training is good for the rest of his life so if the new owner wants to train him new things it will be free. Heathcliff, the friendly, adorable, and strikingly handsome male tabby (1 hr s of Milwaukee)

Up for adoption is Heathcliff, a large and extremely handsome male tabby a little over three years old who weighs about 15 pounds.

Heathcliff came to my rescue when he was found wandering around on someone's property. He was skinny, hungry, and was seemingly waiting for someone to rescue him. We couldn't believe that such a wonderful cat would have been left to fend for himself. His fur was dirty and he was not yet neutered. Since being rescued, Heathcliff has received ALL of his vet care-neutering, rabies and distemper shots, neg FIV/FELV test, microchip, dewormings and a neg fecal test. He does still have his claws, but he lets you clip them He has a wonderfully soft coat and is healthy.

Heathcliff has a super friendly personality. He is sweet, loves to rub his head on people, and will climb on your lap. He is vocal, and his favorite time of day is breakfast and dinner. He is playful, yet loves to snuggle on any fuzzy pet bed he can find. I am searching for a home for Heathcliff that he can run around in and get lots of exercise, with no small children. While Heathcliff has put on a few pounds due to rescue life, he really is a solid mass of muscle. He is a strong cat who can sometimes play with toys furiously and due to his size, I don't think he would appreciate small kids who may try to pick him up. He does not mind adults picking him up. He is named Heathcliff because his personality makes me think of the song that used to go along with the old cat cartoon "Healthcliff". He would definitely need to be the king of the house. That being said, he is a total sweetheart and loves people.

I found these in a pond near my house. A bunch of them in a school. They were moving near the top of the water. They do not move fast like tadpoles, very slow. The body is somewhat segmented like a caterpillar and then forms into a tail. They are all black. The picture quality sucks im sorry. Any help would be great! Thanks!

HAWS is offering 6-week puppy classes which aim to help you socialize your puppy by providing play-time with the other dogs in class. We also start on basic manners by teaching puppy appropriate obedience so that they grow up to be well behaved members of your home. You will learn to train your puppy to pay attention to you, sit, down, come when called, and drop it. You will also learn how to deal with common puppy issues such as housetraining, nipping, and chewing. These classes are for puppies between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks.

Socialization is much more complicated than meeting a few humans, or meeting a few other dogs. It’s about learning that there is nothing to be concerned about when you meet new individuals, enter new environments, or have new experiences. Just because an owner has a few dogs living in their home, it does not help the puppy become socialized to strange dogs that it may meet. And just because a puppy grows up with children, it may not end up being well socialized to children it has never met before.

For Adoption: 2 Female Guinea Pigs (Milwaukee)

Sadly, due to health complications and lack of time, I need to re-home my 2 female guinea pigs. They MUST go together as they were raised together. They were born 10-28-09. Laela is a red abyssinian and Lola is a black and tan teddy bear. They are good with cats and kids. They are a little skittish around loud noises, but that is normal for them. They will protest when being taking from their cage, but after a few minutes holding them they are calm and content; they love to explore. They are hand tamed and very gentle and will eat out of your hand. They love to run laps in their cage and "talk" to you. They are very sweet and funny girls. They love to eat oats (available at hales corners pets, NO human oats!). I give it to them as a treat whenever I change the cage as it stresses them out; positive reinforcement works for them as it does for dogs!

There is a $75 re-homing fee to insure they go to a good home. You will also get the following items: large cage, igloo, water bottle, ceramic food dish (they tip over plastic), kabob, wood chews, oats, unopened 40 liter of paper bedding (wood chips give them respiratory issues), 10 lbs of food, hay, and litter scoop (makes it SUPER EASY to clean out cage). Spare items I have are: water bottle, 2 plastic dishes, and a litter pan. The litter pan is new; guineas can be tricky to litter train.

Advice on dog "nesting"

I am looking for any advice, tips, etc. on a strange problem - my dog is shredding my bedspread! She is about 3 and has loved to be underneath covers since she was a young pup. Yes - I cut her nails, yes - I have tried layering or using sturdier blankets. She has always circled and scratched at the spot she wants to lie down in, but she has just recently started to do it very aggressively (I assume) while I am at work. I could close the bedroom door but I feel like she will move to other areas of the house. She does have several beds that she seems to use while I am at home. I wouldn't say she has separation anxiety per se but she does cower and shake when I leave for work even though she gets a kong. I hate to go back to kenneling her, she never did exceptionally well with it anyway and she has "buddies": cats and another dog. Anyone have any recommendations? I am open to hear it. Couple Reptiles for trade (Milwaukee)

I have a couple reptiles im looking to rehome. My collection is slowly being downsized, and by downsized i mean "size down".
1) I have two Bearded dragons, Both about 15"-18" long, one is very orange in color(the male), the other rather grey in color(the female). The grey one isnt fond of hands, but calms down once picked up.
2)I have an rescued 8ft albino burmese python. Very calm and enjoys handling. hasnt shown me any bad behavior/aggression. Has some nose rub, and a scab over its left eye from a escape attempt injury. Always eats.

Willing to trade any and all for frogs, lizards, or equipment. NO SNAKE OFFERS EXCEPT BALL PYTHONS, or $50 a dragon, $150 for the burm.

Yes, our vet does this too. They should at least give you a credit to your account, minus a restocking fee. As long as THEY changed the prescription, there is no reason why they should not accomodate you. I would follow up with the office again. Talk to the vet directly, not the front desk.

They will take them back, but will not refund. I want them to go to somebody that won't have to pay for them again. They have said they donate them to other people, but never once have I talked to somebody that has gotten any medication free. We are struggling to pay for the vet care right (close to $400 so far and he has to go back again in a week) now with the blood panel and the x-rays he needed, plus the antibiotics and pain meds he has to have and I am very aware there are others out there in the same predictiment.

If the meds could be donated to help somebody else defray the cost a bit and keep their pet, that would just be a good thing.

Mama Kitty & 2 Week old kittens (Washington County)

I posted earlier but people misread or don't seem to understand that these kittens CAN NOT be removed from their mother until they are at LEAST 6-8 weeks. I am looking for a RESCUE to please take them in for me. I have to have them gone by the end of the weekend.

Mama kitty is up to date with her shots besides her rabies.

All of the kittens (5) need shots, etc.

I may be able to keep them longer but I will have to see.

There would obviously be no rehoming fee to a RESCUE. Please have proof that you are a Rescue though when you email or call me. My name is Rachel Hines, and I am a Certified Pet Dog Trainer, graduated from the Animal Behavioral College. I am here to help those who have dogs of any breed with behavioral issues. If you have gone to obedience class, maybe more than once, but you still have on going issues with your dog; then it is time you gave me a call. Most issues that dogs have is related to us humans just not knowing the right thing to do at home. So if you have a new puppy and just need to get started, or maybe you have 3 adult dogs that still run crazy, or maybe your somewhere in between. Its time to get help! I don't deny any dog because of breed or temperament. I am up front about the issues and what your options are for correcting them. I say options because there are many different ways of training and I do what works best for you, your dog, and your household!




Now for the nitty gritty, what I charge for my services. Your first session is your assessment/evaluation visit. The cost is $125 and runs anywhere from 2-4 hours. I need the whole household to be there. I will be observing a lot when I am there and talk to you, and your family if applicable, about your concerns. We will talk about a lesson plan and if you want to start services with me then we will sign a contract. All follow up visits are $50 for the first hour and $25 for each hour after that. These visits run about 2 hours.





There is no amount of lessons required. Generally one assessment visit and two follow up visit are a minimum. But you can cancel at any time if you are unhappy with my services. You pay me at time of service and sorry but no refunds once session is over. If you sign up and pay at time of assessment for the assessment visit and two follow up visits I will give a third follow up visit for free.

So what is catnip?

Catnip is known in scientific nomenclature as "Nepeta cataria". The plant is of the mint family . About 30% of cats do not respond to catnip, and many young cats will

not respond to it, or may become stressed by it, until they are of reproduction age (12 weeks and over).

When cats smell catnip they exhibit a range of behaviors that may include sniffing, licking and chewing the plant, head shaking, chin and cheek rubbing, head rolling, and body rubbing. This reaction has been shown to be non-addictive and harmless, lasting for 5-20 minutes. Cats know when enough is enough, as they cannot be stimulated again for an hour or more after exposure.

We've met cats that never liked catnip in the past fall in love with the catnip we grow and use in our toys. But, we cannot guarantee your cat will be one to enjoy catnip, or if they do enjoy catnip, to even enjoy our homegrown Trippy Kitty Catnip.
