Camcorder/video editing shopper /mentor

I need a techie to help out this non techie.

Buying a camcorder...need advice and technical skill... Leaning toward camera with both a hard drive and HD components-.

I need you to also be savvy enough to look at the components of the desktop and laptop computer I currently have (one windows xp and vista-neither one is a MAC) and assist me in determining if I will be able to use these components together to do elementary video editing...nothing super complicated..maybe scanning some still shots into video-being able to edit scenes in and out....make copies to DVDs...add music? So in effect I am sorta looking for a personal shopper/geek style...I have been reading sites like Videographer.com and to be frank, the advice is over my head...and just further convinces me I need to find someone who knows this stuff.

Once I purchase I may need some mentoring to show me the basics..... and how to get good at it. All told, a very small time commitment...just a bit of brain share needed.

Photographer looking for models, families, etc. for beach scenes (Myrtle Beach or surrounding areas)

Photographer seeking models to expand portfolio. I have been doing Landscape Photography for the last 10 years but I have been recently expanding my portfolio and shooting various types of portraits.
Currently I am looking for females, males, couples, and families interested in being photographed for beach scenes. I am also interested in taking some shots of surfers.
If you have a love for being in front of the camera and can pose or take direction, please send me an e-mail.

For your time on this project you will get either a cd with the edited images or an 8x10 image from the shoot, your choice. I will also be selecting a few choice images from the photo shoot to post on my web site.

actors/actresses needed for short video shoot this Sunday 25th (Pawleys Island)

I am looking for amateur actresses and actors to shoot short "testimonials" for an online video. You will be given specific lines to read, and this will be a very easy, fun, relaxed, short shoot. Your shoot should only take about 10 minutes at most. I can send you your lines to practice ahead of time and this will make your shoot go quicker. You will be required to sign a standard video release, and a statement of confidentiality (standard forms) You will be compensated $50. This will be the easiest money you have ever made! and a lot of fun. Send me a picture and some basic information, I am looking for a variety of ages. Once I review submissions I will send you the exact time and location for your shoot. We will be shooting Sunday Morning (weather permitting) in the Pawleys Island area, we will shoot from around 10 am till 12, but you will be given a specific time to be there, you will not be required to stay for two hours. You will need to dress in casual (no logo) type attire. If you are a real serious actor and looking for your "big break" this is probably not for you, if you are looking for a fun way to make $50 and can do some basic acting, this is the right thing for you. I will be making my decisions by Saturday no later than 2:00 pm so please get your information in quickly if you are interested.

CASTING: "Streetball" Basketball Players (Wilmington, NC)

SportsArc LLC, the premiere sports consulting firm in the film industry, is credited with coordinating and casting the sports action in over 200 episodes of television and 13 feature films. Currently, the company is searching for basketball players between the ages of 18 - 35 who fit the "streetball" mold.
