Okay I have this problem and was hoping I can get some help. You do not need to be a member of Facebook to help just click on the link down below and click the report page button. This guy on Facebook has opened up a page here pretending to be me using my pictures and including a link to a web site with defamatory comments about me calling me a thief. He kept calling my boss at work until it got so bad he got me fired from the job. How do I know? Because my boss told me. He won't stop emailing me threatening how he is going to do this and that to me. Emails me using a different name insuiating that I am going to get shot. He even shows up in public where he knows I will be. He did the same thing on MySpace using my pictures pretending to be me and contacting my friends and eventually got kicked off. I have contacted Facebook about this and suprisingly they are letting him get away with it. I was hoping that if enough people visit the fan page he set up down below and click on the report page option and fill in the comments form as to why u are reporting it could be anything. the plight of the poor is shoved aside in the minds of the haves by the sight of the desolute. a homeless person who shit themselves and is begging for your change so he or she can get a quick high come to mind.

my husband and i are the real underclass of america. neither of us have parents. we were born to irresponsible poor people who ended up having us removed from them by the state. we were raised as wards of the state until we were old enough to raise ourselves and each other. we've been struggling and living together for 8 years now. he's 30, i'm 25. we have little skills and resumes that don't stand out in a climate of 10%+ unemployment. i go to college. college students, regardless of ability to demonstrate need, are ineligible to even apply for foodstamps if they do not work at least 20 hours a week. i wish i could work 20 hours a week! the minimum wage job i did manage to find for the holidays has given me 18 hours in the best week and 4 in the worst. my husband still can't find someone to hire him.

i beg for change on the subway when i commute to the city for school. even that isn't enough. people ask me when they see me, why don't you ask your parents for help. people can't really fathom what it's like not to have parents to rely on. other people yell at me to get a job. they don't know what to say when i tell them i have one.

i'm really hungry. i'm sick of spending every penny i have on food. i'm sick of having to ration what i buy. of buying terrible store brands that taste like cardboard. for 8 years i believed that eventually it would get better, and i'm still supposed to believe that, but it hasn't gotten better. it's stagnated. if anything, it's gotten worse. there's so much tension on my truly loving marraige because i'm depressed all the time about not having money for the metro or to buy lunch or knowing there will never be a celebration of christmas, anniversaries or birthdays in my house.

i see others out, shopping, eating, laughing and i just rot like the miserable person i am. i can't be happy. i don't know why i wrote this, but i just needed to get it out. please...i'm really close to the end of my rope, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't message me, i don't need that extra push. in fact, no one needs to message me, i'm just glad someone took the time to internalize what i had to say and think about how nice it is to have a big family to turn to when times are tough.

Cohousing community forming (Rosendale, NY)

Legacy Farm Cohousing (formerly Ulster County Cohousing) is a community forming in Rosendale, NY, 2 hours north of Manhattan (20 minute drive to Poughkeepsie Metro North stop; town also accessible by bus and train from Port Authority). About 40 houses will be clustered on a few acres of a 50 acre parcel of land, along with a large common house for community meals and other activities.

This is NOT a commune. The single-family houses are individually-owned under a traditional condominium contract, with the land and common house collectively owned by the condo association. The differences between traditional condo living and cohousing are many, notably that houses are somewhat smaller than typical suburban houses (though large by NYC apartment standards) due to the large common house serving far more than typical clubhouse duties, including community meals at least once a week, but there is still respect for individual privacy.

The project has been in development for 5 years and groundbreaking is expected to occur in 2009. The houses will be built to the highest environmental standards, employing both geothermal and solar.

The project offering plan has NOT yet been approved by the NY Attorney General's Office, so the amount of information that can legally be disclosed is limited, but all are welcome to come to the next organizational meeting on December 5th.

I am not one of the "founding members" and therefore the amount of information I'm privy to is also limited, but I'm very excited about the project... the people involved are diverse and great and want to reach out to NYC residents potentially looking for a change of residence.
