Adorable mixed breed pup available for adoption- rescue group (valley stream)
Hello,
I'am currently fostering an adorable mixed breed pup, hes about 4-5 months old and up to date with shots, he is a rottie, dobie mix but looks more like a dobie than a rottie. Hes a big mush, hes not neuterued yet but that will go through the rescue group, hes doing well with house breaking but does have accidents every so often, hes socialized with other dogs and loves them, just wants to play 24/7. Not sure about children since I do not have any, their is an adoption application for the pup which goes to the rescue group, also a donation for the adoption and transport, it costs over 350 dollars to transport dogs, so please do not be cheap with your donation. There will be a home check, and reference checks through the group and also through me, he will not just go to anyone. If you work 10 hrs a day you will be denied hes a pup he needs someone who works flexible hrs to be home with him, he also needs exercise and a yard to run around in. Only email me if you are serious about possibly adopting him...thx
Paid Foster Needed - Must Not Have Other Dogs (Brooklyn)
In need of a foster home for one week for a dog that is coming out of the city's high-kill shelter.
She is a 10-month old well-behaved rednose pit named Lucy. She has kennel cough/URI which is why you MUST not have otherdogs.
Uri is extremely contagious - not life-threatening, but definitely a nuisance and expense if you're dog catches it.
Will provide food, leash and collar. Foster will start on Monday and go until the following Sunday at which point I will take her off your hands and into my home.
Will pay $175 for the week
Please call me at 718.926.6621 and please DO NOT respond to this post if you have a dog.
Please do NOT feed feral cats (original post)
This person posted this, and claims it's advocating TNR? Then when people responded against it, they called them crazy cat feeders who do nothing but add to the problem, and do not practice TNR? That posting was so nasty and belligerant, that it was flagged. I don't know, maybe some people got caught in the crossfire in this one, but this is the root of it, and yes, it does clearly state the trapping and mass euthanasia of a large cat population. No mention of TNR......
Thank you for that post!
In Australia, they implemented a program, which yes, sadly involved the humane euthanization of large feral cat populations. And you know what happened, many species of birds, lizards and other small critters experienced a dramatic resurgence. It's just not true that feral cats don't do massive damage to wildlife. That's propaganda put out by people involved in rescue of cats and dogs, and supported by the Humane Society and other such organizations.
Don't feed these cats and don't let your cat have outdoor access!
Do you have TYPE 1 DIABETES? If so DOGS can help. (long island)
Does you or someone you love have type 1 diabetes? If so dogs can help save you or your loved ones life. Dogs can detect when someone's blood glucose drops too low. They can also smell the highs but we train them to alert on the lows since they are more dangerous. They smell subtle changes in the body's chemistry and when trained properly will alert you to check your levels. There is a lot to this so if you are interested you can give me a call so i can explain the process.

BEHAVIOR and DOG TRAINING SPECIALIST (long island)
If your dog is lacking manners, don't blame the dog. Get help for both you and your dog.
JUMPING ON PEOPLE?
GOING POTTY IN THE HOUSE?
NO LEASH MANNERS?
ETC............
What motivates your dog? Is it food, pray drive, praise? In order to successfully have a well trained dog, you must learn how to establish the proper ground work.
Young and older dogs alike either need to have a strong leader or if not, they will want to lead. Guaranteed results after first visit.
Specialize in basic to advanced obedience and dog aggression rehabilitation. Don't let other trainers tell you that your dog is dangerous and needs to be put down. Give your dog a chance to reform their aggression. Methods are natural and derived from wolf pack theory, with even forms or praise and correction.
You will be taught leadership skills that you will need to control your dog properly. Also deal with issues such as nipping, chewing, jumping, barking, potty issues and puppy training.

Penny needs a home! Petite Staffie mix, owner arrested!! (NYC AREA)
We aren't sure exactly what happened to Penny before we met her. What we do know is that her former owner went to jail for animal cruelty and while Penny bears no physical scars, the emotional scars are apparent.
She is extremely timid (but never aggressive!) when meeting new people and going new places. It may take her a little bit of time for her to come out of her shell, but when she does, she is all kisses and love. The best way to get to know Penny is to engage her in a game of fetch with the tennis ball (see video!). Playing was something that Penny learned at our shelter, something she was deprived of in her puppy hood and now she loves making up for lost time. Can you blame her?
Penny is safe at our shelter and she has come a long way with her shyness since she first came here, but she still needs to know what life is like in a loving home, something she never had. She would love nothing more than to have her own doggie bed, long strolls through the neighborhood or even just a patch of sunlight to bask in.
For more information on Penny please email adopt@bobbicares.org or for immediate consideration please fill out our Adoption Application by going to our website http://bobbiandthestrays.org/AnimalDetail.aspx?id=15 and clicking the "Adopt" under Penny's photos. Thanks!!
Please read what our volunteers had to say about Penny!!
"Penny is a truly amazing dog. When Alex and I first met her, it seemed
like she wanted nothing to do with us, but that clearly was not the
case. She just wants someone to love her, and by the second meeting,
we were all attached. She greets us with kisses and hugs and her
excitement to see us never fails to make us smile. When we walk her,
she looks over her shoulder to make sure we are both there with her.
If she is really happy, she will flop down on the ground and roll in
the grass with her big tongue hanging out, begging for her belly to be
scratched. She enjoys running and walking. She will certainly benefit
from a consistent and patient family, who understands that sometimes
she is afraid of things, but she will work through them if you are
committed to helping her through. Penny is never aggressive with
people, and for the most part, she doesn't mind other dogs. In the
park recently, some off leash dogs came up to her, and some other dogs
were barking at her. She didn't seem to be bothered by them at all.
Alex has been working on teaching her both the verbal and visual
command to sit. She does pretty well. Penny's favorite thing to do is
go on a car ride: she loves to be in the car. She is always eager to
jump inside and sits up so properly as you begin to drive. She
constantly checks on the passengers with kisses and cuddles. Penny
thinks she is a lap dog, and will always try to get into your lap.
She is also a bit of a clown. One time when Alex was trying to take a
picture of them together with his cell phone, Penny kept trying to
lick Alex's face. When he finally got her to look into the camera, she
would turn her head to lick his face right as he clicked the picture.
She is a very smart dog, and was always able to time it perfectly!
Overall she is affectionate and sweet. A perfect dog waiting for the
perfect family to adopt her"

Foster needed for Bear- 7 month pup staffie/Hound mix (Bobbi and the Strays)
Bear is a euth list survivor and he is only 7 months old. This poor little guy was found curled up near a fence in someone's back yard in Brooklyn trying to keep warm in the cold. He has lost a lot of his fur due to a non-contagious and highly treatable skin condition called demodex (which we are now treating). Bear scored very well on his temperament test at ACC - no aggression noted at all! We found that all Bear wants to do is give kisses and cuddle. We are looking for a foster or forever home for this teddy bear. A home that will take him for long walks with a doggie sweater to protect him from the cold and give him the love and guidance he needs as his fur grows back. He looks like he is going to be a gorgeous dog when he is healthy!
For more information on adopting or fostering Bear please email Adopt@bobbicares.org
Thank you!!
Allergic to hamsters (Union Square)
We have one golden hamster (female) and one sable brown hamster (male) to rehome. They are just one year old, have been handled since birth, very sweet, child-friendly, no biting, not even a nibble. They seem very healthy. I am just very allergic to them and can't take it in the small apartment anymore. One lives in a bird cage and the other in a 10-gal tank. Each has an exercise wheel. Would like for them to go to a tween/teenager or other families with children. Thanks.

WON'T PEE IN THE HOUSE! GORGEOUS STAFFY/BULLDOG NEEDS HOME!! (IN KENNEL 2 YRS! SEE HER VIDEO!)
ONE THING FOR SURE .. SHE'S HOUSEBROKEN!! And gorgeous ... with a beautiful little face, great chubby body, but weighing only 35 lbs! such a great size for an apartment or condo if that's where she's headed. She has all her shots, she's spayed and ready to go! And she's HOUSEBROKEN! At 3 years old, she's past all that puppy stuff, but has lots of years ahead of her. She loves ALL people, blankets, toys, belly rubs, kisses and long walks. She's VERY smart, and sits for treats. It's a certainty that she will be someone's best friend for life! She just needs that chance!! Tickles does need to be the only dog, and no cats, please, they make her nervous! If you can foster or adopt Tickles, please respond to: MKLMLKWK@aol.com LOOK AT THAT FACE!!

BELLA! BELLA! BELLA! CUTEST DOG DUMPED AT VET'S NEEDS FOSTER/ADOPTER (gorgeous weimaramer mix needs forever ho)
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Dumping a gorgeous little girl like Bella at the vet's and taking off? Poor, sweet Bella, now with a rescue and well taken care of, is still in a kennel and not in a home which where she deserves to be. She is absolutely adorable ... a one year old Weimaraner mix with a gorgeous fawn fur like suede and light eyes. She totally loves all people and just wants to be loved in return. Since she is still young, she has a lot of puppy energy and needs an owner who has the time to give her the attention and exercise she needs. Bella would reward you in return ten fold with love and devotion! SHE JUST NEEDS THAT CHANCE!! IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT SWEET BELLA, PLEASE RESPOND TO MKLMLKWK@AOL.COM LOOK AT THAT FACE! CUDDLY, SNUGGLY, ROLY POLY "SPUDS" TYPE OF STAFFY ... NEEDS HOME!!! (RESCUE/MIDDLETOWN)
HE COULD PASS FOR A STUFFED ANIMAL! THAT'S HOW ADORABLE THIS LITTLE GUY IS ... the pics don't do him justice (he's cuter in person). Panda does resemble a Panda in every way, the most adorable face and expression, a roly poly Spuds McKenzie-like physique, and SOFT fur! This small (only 51 lbs.), cupcake-like, stout and solid Staffordshire Terrier, bounces when he walks, sort of like a dancing stallion. He is absolutely adorable, lovely on the leash, seems to like other dogs, and was rated a No Concern at intake at the shelter. He came in as a stray, but there's no doubt he would make someone a terrific pet. Did we mention how cute he is? Please take a look! Panda is presently with a rescue upstate. There is an application/approval process. If you are interested in Panda, please email MKLMLKWK@AOL.COM LOOK AT THAT FACE!!

BEST DOG EVER! JUST CAN'T HEAR! (PERFECT DOG, DOG/CAT/KID FRIENDLY! GIVE HIM A CHANCE!)
WHAT'S WONDERFUL ABOUT JUX IS THAT YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW HE'S DEAF .... he knows all his basic obedience cues, sit, down, stay, and he walks fine on the leash. And a sweeter dog you couldn't find anywhere! He loves everybody!! All people, dogs, cats, kids (he did great on Halloween, even with the scary costumes!) AND HE'S HOUSETRAINED! He looks like a little bulldog, the shelter had him down as American Bulldog/Pit mix. At 3 yrs and 50 lbs what could be more perfect? All who meet him fall in love. Jux was saved from ACC by Red Hook Rescue, and they are looking for a loving, caring foster or adoptive home for him. Jux will come neutered, vaccinated, chipped. Please email MKLMLKWK@AOL.COM if you are interested in helping this terrific dog! Or contact the rescue directly at: hszucker@mac.com.
Dog Walker Seeking a Few Sweet Dogs (Bklyn/Manhattan)
I'm a dog walker and cat sitter seeking a few more dogs for daily walks. I've been doing this so long now that I've had dogs pass away :( or move away and I have some room in my schedule. Best neighborhoods: Prospect Heights or Greenpoint, but it's easy for me to get to Crown Heights, Park Slope, some parts of Bushwick, lower Manhattan, Union Square. Various time-slots available although from 12 - 2 I'm pretty much booked. Am open to other neighborhoods, depending.
I have references to share, dogs and clients who have known me for years. Please email for rates, references, website, any questions you have.
Thank you!
PS Cat sitting, also, always available, year round and all major holidays. Still have a little bit of room left for Thanksgiving.
Loving doggy walker (The entire city)
I love animals and have one dog myself. As a college student dog walking is perfect for my schedule and love of animals. I have very flexible hours and I'm looking to fill various time slots with various breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs. My prices are affordable and won't drive you to the dog house. : ) As a dog mommy I know how expensive it is caring for a dog and the people who claim they offer great prices and then charge $20 FOR 1/2 HOUR- THATS UNACCEPTABLE! A real dog lover won't rob the "dog parents" but work with them instead. I'm filling up my spots quickly so the sooner i receive your response the better the slot and rate I can give you. I negotiate, I'll work with you, no matter the situation.
I frequently check my email: Veronica12108@gmail.com and hope to hear from you soon! : )

BIG, HAPPY, GRINNING PIT BULL AT ACC NEEDS OUT! (TIME IS UP FOR THIS 76 LB. SUGAR LUMP! WONDERFUL DOG!)
HE WILL BE GONE SOON, AND WHAT A SHAME THAT WOULD BE FOR THE WORLD TO LOSE SUCH A GREAT DOG ... look at that face, so happy go lucky and grinning like a big old joyful dog. But he's in Animal Care and Control, and his good nature won't save him, only a kind hearted human, or a rescue, can. His name is Rock and right now he has URI, which means he's on the short list to be put down, probably this weekend. Rock is a hunky, roly poly big lug of a dog, is just an round great dog ... he was rated No Concern at intake and he got the best marks a dog can get on his SAFER behavior test! He was even Canarsie' Pet of the Week. And no wonder, he's just a big lovebug. AND HE'S HOUSETRAINED! And at five years old, he's past all that pup craziness, he's mature, calm and mellow. PLEASE CHECK HIM OUT! If you can't commit to adoption, please consider fostering this great dog. Fostering is a wonderful, rewarding way to help a shelter dog on their road to their forever home. IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS SWEET BOY, PLEASE EMAIL MKLMLKWK@AOL.COM HIS TIME IS UP THIS WEEKEND! LOOK AT THAT GRIN!!

Any Update on Bella? Is She Fostered or Pulled?
What is the status of Bella? Has a rescue pulled her or a foster found for her? Please post donation or person who need sposor for her.
A good dog needs a chance and there are many people looking for good dogs -- its just that they dont go to where they are.
I live out of state and have read your posts about her last chance.
Cant the ASPCA take her -- they need to take 100 desparately needed second chances for the one dog (Oreo) that didnt get a chance to live.
At least give a good temperamented dog that is trained a second chance to LIVE>

Re; Do not feed feral cats (USA)
Ok I just have to tell my story. Before I even start let me say that I am not a cat hater nor a crazy cat lady. I currently own 3 cats, and two semi feral's. I have owned as many as 13 at one time and I also tnr when need be. I am involved in wildlife rehabilitation as well.
Back in the late 80's when I bought my house there was over 30 feral cats that lived in the lot behind my house, the old lady around the block was feeding them and they lived in a abandoned garage on the property. By the early 90's there were over 60 cats out there, my yard was void of all wildlife.
I would find these cats run over, dead from illness, torn apart by dogs, half dead from ragging abscess from fighting over mating. I finally set out to spay and neuter all of them. I trapped what I could and brought them to the vet, there were so many that I had to buy two boxes of cite tests at a cost of $220. a box back then. All cats positive for fiv/felv or fip were humanly euthanized. The remaining cats were spayed and neutered at a cost of thousands. While I was working on trapping them still more were being born. New cats would appear because they were being fed and had shelter, more kittens were born. These kittens were feral and I could not catch them until they would get so sick from upper respiratory and parasite infestations that they were damn near dead, almost all had to be euthanized. Those that were salvageable were socialized and found homes. Any cat that was not crazy feral was brought into my home for socialization, this is how I ended up with 18 cats. My dog would go out in my yard and eat the cat poop that was all over my garden and pick up parasites over and over again. Over the years the remaining colony finally died off from infections, cars, dogs, parasite infestation or whatever other horrible way a feral cat can die. In the bitter cold months they were freezing even though they had shelter, it was not heated and as the years wore on the roof of their garage disintegrated. There was one remaining cat in the late 90's that moved onto my back porch when their garage was torn down, she was 17 yrs old and obviously immune to all the diseases that ran rampart in the lot. Her age was amazing for a street cat, most who make it to their first birthday will live between 3 and 5 years. I took her in where she lived out the remaining two years of her life. NO other cats have populated the lot since. NO food has been put out since I took in the last remaining cat. My yard is filled with squirrels, all types of birds and even Quaker parrots. My dog has never gotten any form of parasites.
After seeing what these cats went through I cannot condone tnr. They may have full belly's but their life is a hard and tragic one. These cats do suffer no matter what you would like to believe. A sick or injured feral cat will retreat into hiding and die a slow and painful death out of sight. Young cats will hunt wildlife just for fun even though they are well fed. As a wildlife rehabber I can attest to the damage they cause. Once in a while a stray cat will wonder into my yard to hunt the birds and squirrels, I will chase them out but if they persist on returning I trap them. If they are disease free and friendly I neuter them and find them homes. If they are totally feral or sick I put them to sleep. Humane euthanasia is not a horrible thing to do. They are given a sedative and then a overdose of pentobarbital. They feel nothing after the initial sedative injection. I truly feel this is kinder than putting them back out on the streets. Unless you have given up your heated garage to these cats, can treat them for fleas, internal parasites, infections and illness, can keep them from wondering into the streets and neighbors property then I don't think you are doing them any favors. I have seen people throw bricks at feral's who enter their yards so don't assume your neighbors will love your feral's too.
Yes all these cats are the result of humans tossing out their un neutered pets, but that does not make it ok for them to be there. Humans caused this problem and I think humans need to clean it up and stop it from happening again. As long as cat colony's exist people will dump their pet cats into the colony assuming they will be taken care of by the "crazy cat lady" They consider it a easy solution to their problem of what to do with the cat they don't want. If these cats were feral dogs would you consider it ok? People dump their dogs on the street all the time but the minute someone see's them they call the CACC to come pick them up, and yes most of those dogs are euthanized. Would you also condone feral dog colonies? Domestic pets do not belong on the streets anymore than wild animals belong in your house.
Again I am not a cat hater, I love cats, I own cats, I have spent thousand on treating feral cats. I currently have two feral cats I tried to socialize but they only sort of, kind of like me and will never be adoptable to another home.
Also bear in mind that the Bronx has a rabid raccoon population and they have found rabid cats in the area as well. By law if a raccoon is trapped it has to be euthanized and tested for rabies, but the cat population living amongst them does not. When the caretakers of these cat colonies' get bitten do they have the cat tested for rabies? It's only a matter of time before disaster hits and when it does the city will come and collect every single cat off the streets.
There is really no simple solution to the feral cat problem but if you cannot take them in then please don't encourage the situation. Once they are removed new cats do not move in unless you feed the new ones. When the caretakers of these colonies move or die what do you suppose happens to these cats? TNR does not work simply because as long as there is food and shelters new cats will continue to come for ever more, the population will not eventually die off on their own.
These are the things that the caretakers do not take into consideration, Most do have an OCD sydrome when it comes to their colonies and will not even consider or listen to logic. Understandably they are thinking with their hearts, they have grown to love the cats they feed and would never consider euthanizing them. I can understand this but TNR is not the solution. If you love them too much to put them down then you have to take them off the street. Build a secure house (I built one for the old lady around the block) or give up your garage. They will need a strong screened in area as well, accessible from a window or hole.. They must be contained. If you cannot do this because you don't own the house then please don't add to the problem.

What I will do to breeders that post sale ads (New York)
If I see that you are posting an ad and are a breeder selling puppies on here I will do the following:
1. Report you to the SPCA for animal cruelty
2. Contact the attorney general and report you as a breeder that is not licensed. A breeder in NY needs to be licensed.
3. Call the IRS and report you for tax evasion.
Now if you do not want to deal with the legal ramifications of a few phone calls that I will make then do not post your breeder ads here. Post them on http://newyork.kijiji.com/ where back yard breeders are always welcome to post their ads.
THIS IS A WARNING AND THE ONLY ONE YOU WILL RECEIVE. I CAN EASILY FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE SO DO NOT EVEN BOTHER ASKING HOW I WILL FIND OUT BECAUSE YOU DO NOT WANT ANY OF THE ABOVE AGENCIES KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR.

GREAT DOG PICS: from DeathRow now still living Behind Bars: need FOSTERS NOW! PLEASE HELP US GET THESE GREAT DOGS INTO GREAT FOSTER or 4ever HOMES, THEY WERE ON DEATH ROW IN A KILL SHELTER, AND NOW THE RESCUE NEEDS HELP TO MOVE THEM INTO FOSTER OR [even better!] *4EVER* HOMES ASAP: PLEASE OFFER ONE DOG A GREAT HOME, THEY ARE ALL FABULOUS DOGS!
email dakodalove@gmail.com to FOSTER, ADOPT or DONATE to BOARDING (paypal email is the same) --we keep looking for placement in GOOD HOMES for these beautiful, GOOD DOGS! All the following dogs are currently living Behind Bars: please help them get into a FOSTER or 4EVER HOME NOW.
SENSATIONAL SINCLAIR (PA)- 1.5yrs, wonderful & good BOXER / rednose Mix boy, gets along well with dogs, a shy sweety who loves people; look at that underbite, irresistable! Sinclair is a Great Boy, we love him.
THEO (Middletown, NY), tall, energetic boy who loves to play play play.. a good dog who will need a dog-savvy caretaker to give him his obedience, exercise him and socialize him SLOWLY with other dogs -- he does well with other dogs as long as he is introduced properly and slowly; Simply Stunning and so smart and cool; great with Kids, too.
MAX (Middletown, NY)- sweet special boy who went from being the ultimate survivor stray to a cuddler and a lover; he'll do great with someone who does not leave him alone for full 8hrs days, or he gets anxious 2 be left alone: but he does very well chilling in his crate for a few hours if home alone, as long as properly socialized and exercised, as all dogs should be. Max loves to chill on a soft and fluffy pillow next to you.. about 6 yrs of age. a true survivor and a loving smart good, very very special boy.
ONE (PA)-- a simply FANTASTIC boy, a German Shepard Mix, about 1.5 yrs of age; wonderful with all people and kids and dogs; such an amazing boy and gorgeous to boot; he was found with heartworm and Lyme and we treated him of both - now please: lets give this wonderful sweet stunning boy a home!
LADY (PA)--our little, unique too-cute-for-words Lady, was said to be not-dog friendly bcz she barked and barked at dogs in the neighboring pens; but then one day, lady somehow escaped her pen, and was found happily running around the other dogs, creating no trouble; we still suggest a slow intro to other dogs for her and maybe a home as the only dog, to begin with, as to assess further; but we're very proud of Lady for how long she has come from being a throw-away mama, literally dumped at the kill shelter as trash, after she was used as a breeding machine: she was so emaciated and sad; but look at her recent pictures below, a filled-up in fact CHUBBY Lady and her toy, she awaits a home to call her own! staying behind bars too long will make anyone chubby, please--help Lady get FREE and into a HOME after so many months and get the exercise, home and love she deserves!
BLANCA (PA)- another gorgeous staffie mix girl, about 2 to 3yrs of age, who was used as a breeding machine and then dumped at the kill shelter; Blanca is lovely & too cute, indeed, with her all-white coat and BIG piggie ears! She is very obedient and smart, she loves being with people and was well trained, she knows SIT and a few other basic commands well, she listens and obeys; she is a lover and a cuddler and LOVES to play and interact with people; she is fine with other dogs, although bcz they used her for breeding, it'd be best to do slow introductions with other dogs. Blanca is gorgeous and unique, and she will love a home who can give her the attention she craves: she so longs to be part of the family.
MACO (PA) - our other long-time resident --too long a time: it's been a YEAR behind bars! especially for such a GREAT GREAT boy as he is! Maco loves people, other dogs, kids.. he really DESERVES a GREAT HOME, and --NOW! Maco is great with all people and all dogs: he is a Sweetheart who loves to play with dogs and cuddle with people; he is 1.8 yrs of age going on 2yrs, and now has grown into a HANDSOME, tall, gorgeous boy [he is a staffie mixed with lab or hound;
who is the lucky new Guardian who will end up with this magnificent dog? .. we Love our Maco!

Gator tame alligator(Know your Laws)
Just some info. Alligators grow about 7 inches a year for the first 3 years then it slows down to about 3 inchs a year. My 12 year was five feet and walked on a leash. If you continuosly handle them they can be tamed. They make tubs for adult gators that are not very expensive. The bigger the alligator the more expensive it becomes. Anyway my 3 and 1/2 year old 2 foot tame gator is up for adoption. He has Has never bitten me. She will hiss alittle bit while in the cage but it is also a food reaction you will know the difference. Litterally when I pick him up he flops like a fish for 4 seconds, then will remain still with his mouth open a littlebit but I put pens in his mouth he never bites down. After about 2 minutes you can hold him and watch tv with him on your lap for hours. Anything else you want to know I will have to tell you about it. I know alligators are legal in RI, PA and you need a permit in NY besides that you have to know your state laws. But like I said you can receive permits rather easily, in the few states they are illegal in. I am asking an adoption fee of $250 for him, a 55 gallon with screen, which will fit him for at least 3 more years, plus his rock island, and driftwood. I will sell him alone for $200.I cant send a picture. IHis mouth is 2 in wide, his head is 4 inches long. His belly area, if you rap it with your hand would cover 3/4 of his waist. And he has no imperfections.Thankyou Rob P.S. please leave regular email or Phone number

Hi,
I am going away Dec 22-31 and I need a dog sitter for my rottie mix for that time frame. I cannot pay a lot, so please get back to me with your rates and I'll make a decision how much I can afford.
About my dog - about 50 lbs, friendly, but has leash aggression issues - barks and pulls at other dogs when walking on leash. Fine with dogs off leash, but likes to run and play rough. Needs 2 to 3 half hour walks a day. Otherwise will just hang out. Loves attention.
Please let me know your rates and whether you're available for that time frame.
Thank you

Bathing Tips for a First Timer for a Puppy
Bathing Tips for a First Timer for a Puppy
If bathing a puppy use puppy tearless shampoo. Make sure all your supplies are handy, towel, shampoo, conditioner, grooming spray, stainless steel comb for longer haired pooches or rubber brush for short haired dogs. Blowdryer optional
Fill your tub with warm water and have some floatable toys to occupy the pup.
Before you ad your pooch to the water if he is a long haired pup comb the pup thru to untangle any matts. Thouroughly scrub the pup including anus area. Rinse completely until squeeky clean sound comes off the fur. Towel dry completely and blow dry on low warm setting. Lightly mist with grooming spray afterwards

2foot gator tame alligator(know your state laws)
A little info. Alligators grow very slowly about 3 inches a year when fed once a week. The bigger they get the more they cost. My 12 year old was only five feet and walked on a leash, but you have to keep up the work. They make tubs for full grown alligators that are affortable if you like your pet. The bigger they get the more they cost. I have a 2 foot 4 year old gator who is well behaved. He never bites when you pick him up, and he will sit with you as long as you hold him. He will hiss at you while in his cage and opens his mouth but I stick pens in his mouth and he never clamps down. Everything else you have to ask me. I know in R.I., and PA they are legal to keep I had 9 at one point. You need a permit in NY and I don't know about any where else you have to know. I don't have a licence to sell them so I am putting him up for adoption, with a fee of $200 for the gator and $250 for him, a 55 gallon, with screen, his river rock to sun,and driftwood. I can't take a picture his mouth in 2 in across, his head is 4 in long. If you put you hand around his belly it would cover 3/4 of his body around. He has no imperfections .I believe an alligator is a level 3 permit in NY but might be a 2. Leave your email or a number.

THEY LOOK LIKE SMALL BOBCATS. VERY COOL SIBLING KITTENS FOR ADOPTION (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
THEY LOOK LIKE SMALL BOBCATS. VERY COOL BROTHER & SISTER KITTENS FOR ADOPTION
These two 5 month tiger kitties are siblings who were rescued from the Ditmas Park area of Brooklyn as part of a TNR (Trap, Nueter, Return) program. These two siblings (as well as their sisters Penelope & Helen) were young enough to be socialized and fostered.
Both Hector and Calypso have tested negative for FeLV/FIV, have been vaccinated, dewormed and been neutered. Hector and Calypso are so handsome - looking like small Bobcats .
These two are a work in progress. Arriving as little terrified wild creatures almost a month ago, they have come a long way.
According to their foster mom: “They hang out in the main area most of the time and often follow me about. Hector is more social and Calypso is shyer - often hanging back to make sure things are safe. Both enjoy playing with the other kitties and with the toys. Both will eat from my hand and allow me to touch them briefly before they run away. Hector has started stretching out up on the foot of the bed and even jumped on my chest to check me out up close when I was lying down.”
These two are enjoying the indoor life more each day. Although not yet ready to be cuddly lap cats, they are well on their way. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this brother and sister, please contact us.
You can view some nice photos of our little Bobcats here: http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklynbridgeanimals/HectorCalypso# .
Otherwise, as they improve and develop into desirable house cats, we will keep you updated.

Lovely Tabby Female Cat FREE SUPPLIES!! (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
Siri, a lovely gray, brown and white striped tabby lady cat with a soft silky coat, was rescued from a construction site along with her brother and sisters. This little girl was unsocialized when rescued from the construction site where she was scrounging for scraps among the trash.
View some more pictures of Siri here: http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklynbridgeanimals/SiriASweetheartOfAKittyForAdoption#
Here is a video of Siri: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJkhtOcJRio
Over the past year Siri's foster mom has worked with her to develop a trusting relationship. Although still shy, Siri will now come out and lounge around her new home (even when people are over).
After fostering Siri for several months, we discovered that Siri's eyes were damaged from a virus while she was living on the street. Although she is not infectious, she still displays some sensitivity to light and she will likely always need some over the counter artificial tears applied. However, Siri submits to this treatment with only some mild complaints (cute little cries and head tossing).
Although she is always going to be a quiet kitty, she enjoys playing quietly with the laser and other toys. Siri enjoys the company of other cats but would likely be more affectionate if she was a single kitty.
Some pictures of this sweet girl can be seen below. Unfortunately, Siri's current foster home is not going to be available for much longer so Siri would be very grateful if someone will give her a chance at a new home.
FREE SUPPLIES!!! Siri comes with many of the supplies you’ll need to get started: a free litter box, a carrier, her favorite toys and food. All you have to do is provide a loving, safe and permanent home for this wonderful lady cat.
Siri is fully vetted: spayed, up to date on all of her vaccines, tested negative for FELIV and FIV.

Re:How to Find out Information About Organizations (why no answers?)
This post was flagged - presumably by the individual who does not want to be asked questions about what they post. Why would they want to Censor these questions?
I've repeatedly questioned statements in this post. I've yet to get a response other than being called a liar. Hopefully this chronic "Forms" and "Information" poster will provide a response other than insults and more so-called "Information" posts.
It's perfectly reasonable to tell readers about 990 tax forms are tell them where to find the information. It's an another entirely different to make unsubstantiated allegations about the soundness of tax filings and tax audits, or to allege that Rescue Groups are being "followed" by the IRS".
This poster writes:
I have paperwork, letters - proof that this almost happened to a group in Manhattan. They received a fine that was paid (most likely with money from donations - I guess every penny doesn't go for feeding the cats). It's amazing how much creative accounting takes place here and on audits. Actually on audits, the audit firm is supposed to catch this but some stuff manages to filter through.
(1) I've asked the poster to tell us if what they're alleging as almost happening refers to a NonProfit rescue filing taxes late. Many individuals and companies file taxes late for a host of reasons. It does not imply dishonesty. Is this what this statement refers to - late tax filing? And when exactly did this happen - once for one rescue out of how many rescues in NYC over how many years! This statement clearly implies widespread wrongdoings and dishonesty which is not substantiated.
(2) This poster says - "it is amazing how much creative accounting takes place" implying widespread dishonesty. I've asked this poster if they've had access to financial records and if they have a degree in accounting - how else could they know if creative accounting takes place. Is this statement based on fact or is it a made-up story?
(3) Also, have you attended an audit since you say, "creative accounting takes place during audits". Is this statement based on facts or just some more creative writing?.
(4) Alleging that "the IRS may be following Rescue Groups" that are not registered NonProfits is a blatant lie. Do you work for the IRS - how would you know if individuals who run rescue group are being "followed".
I guess one can just as well say this about YOUR rescue group - "The IRS or Social Security may be following this poster for not reporting adoption income on their personal income tax.." You would protest. So how can you make this statement about other rescue groups?
Are you a registered Non Profit? NO. Do you report your adoption income on YOUR personal taxes and social security? DO YOU? Maybe the IRS is following you.
By the way Non Profit groups who have a gross income of under $25,000/year, do not have to file 990 forms. Get your facts right.
If you cannot provide credible rationale and facts, you need to edit your post as it is providing incorrect and misleading information and unsubstantiated allegations about rescue groups.
Not Quite Sure? Consider Fostering a Cat or Dog (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition is a small rescue group in the Brooklyn Heights, New York area. We are committed to helping all animals in need of assistance in our neighborhood. We specialize in rescuing abandoned cats and kittens, and we also rescue a few dogs. We DESPERATELY need responsible, caring foster parents to help transition these frightened, traumatized animals when they are first rescued. We always fully 'vet' our cats before placing them, so you would never need to worry about diseases or parasites in your home. The cats and dogs are also spayed/neutered.
Because our group does not cage our cats or dogs, foster parents are essential to us: without them, we could not rescue animals. Our animals usually stay in foster care for about 1 month. We would need to have at least a 1-3 month commitment, so that we don't 'bounce' the animal from home to home (which is very traumatic for them).
If you would like to give it a try, please contact us. We ask you to fill out an application and allow us to come for a home visit to ensure our furry friends are in a safe environment.
Please contact us by hitting reply or at BrooklynBridgeAnimals@yahoo.com if you would like to become a foster parent for our organization. Or you can call us: 718 360-9918.

Bob the Cat for Adoption FREE SUPPLIES (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
Bob who is 2 years old, was rescued from a construction site along with his sisters. Bob has beautiful and striking tabby swirls of color and a soft silky fur coat.
Check out his close up pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklynbridgeanimals/BobForAdoption#
Having not been well socialized, he was very suspicious of his new foster home. However, he quickly bonded with the other house kitties, patiently playing with the young kittens and slavishly following the older adults.
Bob will make an EXCELLENT COMPANION CAT as he is very adaptive with different cat personalities, willing to play rough or quietly snuggle: whatever the other cat wants to do. He is generally very good natured in playing with the other cats.
As you can see from this video, although he likes to play with the laser and a feather. Good Boy, Bob!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJkhtOcJRio
Although Bob is a bit "hinky" around new people (he gets what we call "Newbie Willies," he bonds quickly with his caretaker. Bob often will sneak up on the end of the bed to sleep near his foster mom or follow her around the apartment. Bob's foster mom can occasionally pick him up and give him some head and tummy scratches.
Unfortunately, Bob's current foster home is not going to be available for much longer so Bob would be very grateful if someone will give him a chance at a new forever home.
FREE SUPPLIES!!! Bob the Builder comes with many of the supplies you'll need to get you started: a free litter box, his favorite toys and food. All you have to do is provide a loving, safe and permanent home for this wonderful boy.

The Diamond Brothers young cats for adoption! (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
Two teenage kitten brothers: Black Lockets for Adoption FREE SUPPLIES!!
We recently rescued two utterly adorable green eyed black locket male cats. They have a tiny "locket" of white fur on their chests and are completely black otherwise. We are almost certain these poor boys were dumped because they are extremely friendly and affectionate. They are brothers and are very bonded so we want to place them together. This is ideal for the adoptive family: the two cats keep each other company, they get along well, are very bonded and will never be lonely. The perfect combination!
Check out their updated photos here (very cute): http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklynbridgeanimals/DiamondBrothers#
Black and White Diamond have both been neutered, are up to date on their shots, and are negative for Leukemia and Feline AIDS. In fact, they are in excellent health. They are both comical and playful older kittens (about 10 months). This is an IDEAL age to adopt a cat: they are not crazy kittens but are still very young and playful.
Black cats are so difficult to photograph, so we've posted a video so you can see how friendly and affectionate these boys are:

Female Maine Coon mix cat for adoption!! (Brooklyn Bridge Animals)
Osa ("Little Bear" because she looks like a snuggly baby bear), 2 years old, was rescued from a factory near JFK Airport. Not only does Osa appear to be a Maine Coon mix, she exhibits all the endearing qualities of a Maine Coon: very affectionate, playful, people oriented. She has soft, luxurious long fur with dilute tortie mackeral tabby markings and lovely gold eyes.
Osa is a 'kisser' so if you pick her up, she'll hug you and shower your face with kisses.
Osa can be the ONLY CAT in the household. She becomes so attached to her person that she becomes jealous of other animals. She does not get along with any other animals. We don't recommend that she is placed with children either.
She is up to date on all of her shots, has no fleas or parasites, has been spayed and is in great health (negative for Feline Leukemia and AIDs).
You can view more photos of Osa here: http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklynbridgeanimals/MaineCoonMix#

Looking for a dog companion (Bushwick)
Hello,
My name is Daniel. These last four years that I have lived in NYC are the first in my life that I haven't had a canine by my side, and I think it is about time that I correct that. Ideally I'm looking for a dog under 30 pounds, 1-3 years old, with a medium energy level, that is either trained or trainable. I am not willing to pay some major adoption fee so if you are trying to make a buck or recoupe all the money you ever spent on the dog don't bother with responding. I am willing to supply a loving, affectionate, and ordered home to a dog that needs it, not cash for someone who doesn't need a dog.
If you could, send me a recent photo and description of your doggy. Ask any questions you'd like.
Thank you,
Daniel
re:Do Not Feed Feral Cats (everywhere)
"Wow it makes me wonder..... well why don't you tell me: what are the first 3 letters of assume? Well that's what you are when you assume a list of things about someone you know nothing about. And of course your genius revelation that through your views, You keep your chin up sunshine.
This person seems incapable of ever writing a post without being nasty and sarcastic. Just because you disagree doesn't mean you need to engage in character assasination and homophobic comments. You can disagree without being disagreeable.
I support TNR and colony management. I do not support hostility and use of passive aggressive pot shots against perople who disagree or you believe disagree with you..
This is public board and others have a right to voice their opinions without being insulted. Your nastiness only serves to give those who support TNR and colony feeding a bad name.
Try knitting to release some of that hostility and anger.
How to Find out Information About Organizations (990 Tax Forms)
Non Profits are supposed to file an IRS form called a 990 that details their income and expenses. If they don't file it, they can get fined or lose their non profit status. If a group isn't registered they're not reporting income or expenses or any other activity to anyone.
If a group is not a non profit but portrays themselves as a "rescue" imagine how much is unreported income. We're talking large numbers of cats on a regular basis. Figure 10 cats at 100 per cat per day on a weekend? Figure free resources used and charged for as part of the adoption fee? Let's not forget CASH donations put into their donations jar.
Nice way to make a living the IRS may already be following these groups.
Non Profits and registered Charities are responsible to the Charities Bureau. The Charities Bureau posts information for the public about these groups so that the public gets honest informtion about the groups. Go to the Charities Bureau's site and explore, get information on your own. Learn to use these resources that are posted for the Public's Benefit.
A. Maybe you just want to know if the group is really registered or is pretending to be a non profit.
B If you need to find out more information about a group that you're interested in or have questions about go to Google and type in their name. They may have a website; there may be comments posted about them from other people, the courts and newspapers. Non Profits are supposed to be "transparent" about their income and expenses. Some groups post their 990s on their Website-THAT'S TRANSPARENCY!!
C. You can also type in "Complaints*(NAME OF GROUP or person)" and find out more.
D. You can also go to the Charities Bureau website and get more information or to the Attorney General's website and get information via the Freedom of Information Law.
You have begun your search for information.
I have paperwork, letters - proof that this almost happened to a group in Manhattan. Keep the groups and organization honest: Pay by check or credit card and use forms on my website before fostering or adopting.

Ask Questions Before Fostering/Adopting a Pet (all neighborhoods)
Use these forms created for Kindhearted people like you who want to help by fostering/adopting. These forms will to some extent protect your from Users and Abusers. They don't want you to see these forms and flag them as often as possible.
1. Ask all the questions on this Questionnaire prepared just for you it's FREE
2. Keep the logs created for your recordkeeping.
3. If the organization refuses to sign them - walk away from them. Foster somewhere else. Adopt from somewhere else.
All of my information is documented and based on first hand experience. see http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeyfg4f/kittycatfosterpitfalls
Any rescue group that is honest will have no problem giving receipts and Original Medical Files for the animals in their care. Any honest group will have no problems answering your questions. After 7 years of volunteering and fostering here's what I learned.
Paper trails prevent "misunderstandings" or denying that a promise was made. Signed paper holds up better if you need to go to Court. Promises are made to be broken. A picture is worth a thousand words - yes, keep pictures too!
1. Please do your homework before fostering or adopting find out about an organization before you do business with them:
Google their name asking about complaints about the group.
i.e.: Group*Complaints
2. Read these forms and ask the questions that I've designed to protect you - policies are not something that should change depending on who is being recruited to foster or adopt.
3. Please get everything in writing and signed - oral promises do not hold up in court and are easily denied by the unscrupulous.
IF FOSTERING BE SURE TO GET THESE ANSWERS IN WRITING WITH A SIGNATURE FROM THE AGENCY'S FOSTER CARE COORDINATOR
1. Length of foster care
FROM:_______________________________________
TO:__________________________________________
2. Do they put a maximum on number pets per house hold
3. If so, how many pets are too many?
4. How recently vaccinated and tested (get dates)
VACCINATED (and dates):
Rabies
Upper Resp Vacc
Other
TESTED (and dates):
FELK/FIV
Other
TEST RESULTS: (get dates)
5. Who is responsible for food & litter:
Remember that you are doing this agency a FAVOR by providing a place for the cat to stay; by providing the necessary care and feeding the pet; monitoring for behavior and health issues and giving LOVE to the animal. Never forget that in some cases you are socializing the animal for this group who will adopt it out and collect an adoption fee plus grant money for "expenses" that they save on by fostering the pet out.
You should not be obligated to pay for Food, Litter or Medical Costs. They will also claim expenses to preserve their tax free status - if you spend money on the fostered animal get a letter from them for YOUR tax records. Be sure it is dated and has the amount of money you are claiming this line should not be left blank it should be filled in with the correct amount.
6. What kind of follow up will be done during the foster care period?
7. Will someone deliver or pick up pet/provide carrier
8. Will someone be in touch with me on a regular basis.
How does the public know that this cat is available for adoption?
9. What vet do they use
EMERGENCY VET FEES
10. What do they consider an emergency?
Is this in agreement with what you consider an emergency?
11. Who do I contact in case of an emergency (name)
12. Is there a cell phone number to call in an emergency?
13. What is the name/telephone number of your foster care coordinator?
14. If there is an emergency and I cannot reach the contact listed above or the foster care coordinator are you prepared to reimburse me for emergency care?
15. Does this pet currently have any contagious parasites (Fleas, Coccidia, worms, skin fungus or upper respiratory condition)
16. Are there any other Medical conditions present with regard to this foster pet: (you're giving them the opportunity to come clean with you about any other medical issues you don't know about raising.)
TAKE HOME a copy of this cat's medical files for the duration of the foster period (YOU MUST HAVE THIS IN CASE YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE CAT TO THE VET - THE VET WILL WANT TO KNOW THE CAT'S MEDICAL HISTORY)
Please protect yourselves and your household - incoming diseases and infections passed to you (ringworm) and your pets (upper respiratory etc) are usually not addressed by rescue groups. In fact, their forms usually contain a clause protecting them from just this situation you must decide if you really want to put yourself and your pets in this situation.
If they balk at answering your questions, signing forms or respecting your boundaries take it as a warning and RUN - don't walk AWAY from this group.

Affordable PetSitting in my home! (queens)
Hello Pet- Owners!
I'm back at it. Taking about 2 years off from pet-sitting in my home, I'm back in the field.
Affordable pet-sitting in my home. No cages, Yes attention, Yes love, Yes to whatever duties the owner asks and extras.
I only board one family of pets at a time. Since your pet is king/queen of the castle I wouldnt want to take that away from them by
sharing the castle with another pet. Sounds fair to me.
Rates negotiable! Book in Advance.
Thank You.
