We are recruiting for Direct Care Aides to work in Specialized Adult Foster Care facilities located in Traverse City and Kingsley, MI. These homes provide 24 hour care to residents with Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Illness. We provide all of the training necessary to become certified as a Direct Care Aide completely free to our candidates. This is an exciting opportunity to either enter the medical field for the first time, or further develop your skills if you have some medical experience.

We offer both full and part time positions. Generally speaking, you will start with part time hours ranging from 12 – 25 hours per week. As you progress in your skills and demonstrate your reliability your hours will increase. For our full time employees we offer a 3 day work week comprised of 12.5 hour shifts. We have two shifts for our full time staff; 8 am to 8:30 pm and 8:00 pm to 8:30 am. Our part time employees have an opportunity to work both these 12.5 hour shifts and ocassional shorter shifts, generally in the afternoons from 3 pm to 11 pm.

Our starting pay for candidates with minimum experience (or none) is $8.00 per hour with an opportunity to move to $8.50 per hour after 90 days of full time employment and demonstrated competency. We also have a defined promotion system where our employees have an opportunity to be selected for entry into our “Level System” with pay ranges of $9 to $10.35 per hour. Additionally, some of these employees progressing through the Level System will have an opportunity to become a Shift Lead person with even higher income potential.
