Yes average wage was shitty when minimum wage was started. But wow rent was equal to wages food costs were equal to wages . Every time minimum wage goes up Who do you think suffers for it. Not the minimum wage employee nothing really changes for them. Their rent goes up their food costs go up and their pay rate went up . Not the rich person they just increase their prices to cover their losses for increasing minimum wage.

You and me the middle class American pays out the ass. Our wage stays the same our expenses rise. Except now instead of making $10 over minimum wage we are now making $9 over So we just took a $1 pay cut .

Minimum wage is a scam to make poor people think they are getting treated better when in fact it is only big business that wins. Really do you think this capitalistic country actually gives a shit about middle class and poor citizens ? No they only care about lining their pockets off our blood and sweat.

Think about it if you owned a business where 75-80% of your labor was minimum wage employees. Then the Govt says you must pay them more lets just say $.46 an hour. that is $18.40 dollars a week per employee Not much but then you figure you have 40 employees You are now paying an extra $736 a week $38272 a year if you don't give vacations say you give 1/2 your employees a week vacation paid then your now paying $38640 extra a year .

Now you just went from making 70k a year to31.36k a year are you going to give up your boat, your hooker or your S.U.V or are you going to pass it on to everyone else and raise your prices to cover your increased expenses ?

So now everyone is raising their price So us middle class people start bitching for a raise we will get it eventually . Now think of all the people who just moved up a tax bracket. Not everyone will ofc but plenty will who were right on the border . So now the Govt is getting extra money Big buisness is pulling in higher numbers = more capital more buying power.

Now the minimum wage people are just barely scraping by or failing completely again. So what do we do ? Repeat the entire scenario . Except now many small business' have gone under cause that extra $38k a year was to much and they couldn't raise their prices enough to cover it and still compete with big chain business. So their is now less jobs out their less money everywhere and you have this countries economic status as it is today.

So yeah I think minimum wage was a bad thing I think it is still a bad thing Think about it

How about next time you buy those $150 Nikes you think about the kids working in sweat shops for less than a dollar a day that make them so you can strut about complaing about how much Americn workers get paid.

If you really want to discuss that "competitive edge" perhaps you should look at companies making billions of dollars because they must reward their top execs excessive bonuses for literally sitting on their asses. About the only hard work they do is thinking of new ways to fuck you out of more money.

Recently i left miami to come to marion county to help my family with there problems such as help my brother with his wife who was in a car accident back last year the left her crippled. So i cam up to help him move her from the car to the doctors ect. then i figured i could get a job at where she worked at since they hire welders. THey hired me due to me know her and all was working out so well. I didnt plan on moving here since my home is in miami and everything is so conviently close by.

Well after being trained for 30 days on the job the company had been on my ass to work faster and they kept telling me from day one they would fire me. then my 45 day evaution came and they told me if i didnt get faster they would fire me. this to me was key that they didnt want a fat guy working for them. some may have wanted me working there but others didnt. the ones that count didnt want me there. so with that i quit the job knowing they would have to fired me anyways due to my carpotuneral i have that did not permit me work any faster since my arms were swelling up from it and major pain.

I have now been out of work since december 17 till now. its hard to find work but my bigger problem is my so called family. My brother doesnt work and has one teen age kid boy and his teen age daughter flew the coop since she doesnt get along with him. My dad who is on socal security also doesnt work. they look to me to work and pay the bills. when i was working i gave them 800.00 a month which was half of their morgage. Since then they are blaming me for their forclosure problem. I told them it wouldn't have matter your son doesnt work due to him not paying taxes so hes hiding from IRS. His wife handicapt to the point she will never walk right due to a head on car accident that want her fault this time. due to the other person having poor insurance his wife now owes half a million in medical bills. she was turned down by dissability socal security.

I went out and got food stamps so i could pull my own weight. i even use less electricty and wash my laundry less just to conserve on power. but yet there teen son who dose no wrong in their eyes runs his 400Watt desk top computer all night and leaves it running during the day plus he plays Xbox360 for hours on thru the day each day and weekend are 48hour around the clock for this kid. my father runs his desktop too for hours and with a 42 inch flat screen tv. the only thing i run is this cheap laptop for a few hour each day and they blame me for the high electric bill. I gave 30 dollars of my money to pay towards the electric and no0w they are telling me i will have to leave if i cant come up with half the electric next month.

So that you all know i am looking for work 7 days a week for welding or pc tech work or just about any labor job, but i havent found anything yet. it kills me not to have a job. my old man got up set cause i waited a couple hours to get ten buck to compleat the thrity dollars i game him for electric. he got so up set that i didnt go when he asked me to go that he was willing to kick me out over it. i looked at him and told him im going to go get it. i wasnt feeling well after eating galic chicken wings. so iwasnt feeling up to going right away. but for him to want to kick me out over ten dollars is just not right.

So im askng you out there, should i move back to miami? is this a red flag to ditch them since they are ready put me out on the street at a moments notice? Im putting this out there to see what others think about all this.

I came here to help out not live but it has turned into me living with the enemy they way i have been treated so far.

If you think complaining to the government about the oil companies will help lower prices you're dreaming. The oil companies, plus many other non-oil companies, ARE the government!

Our government is owned lock stock and barrel by mega-corporations! Complaining is about as effective as hoping to sweep back the tide.

At one time I had thought one day we could solve this countries problems by electing the right candidates. I'm 62 and after seeing the gradual eating way of our supposed built in constitutional protections I now longer see that as a viable alternative. There once was a saying: ballots not bullets. Our voting system has degenerated into one that only allows you to vote for what is presented to you. Not a real freedom since both parties grow from the same tree of deciet, greed and a hunger for power.

We are, on a daily basis, presented with this dog and pony show that keeps us distracted from the real issue. Control over the citizens of this country. I fear the only way to solve this problem is the reverse of the adage: bullets not ballots! Even that is now becoming more difficult by the day since anyone who takes a stand openly to rid this government of it's grip is branded as some pshycotic misfit. We've seen that happen over and over again and everyone just seems to go along without blinking an eye.


So I would say to you, bend over and take it since no one seems to have the balls to change it!

Gas pricess On the Rise again but Sauldi Pays less? (USA fucking us again)

Gas prices are on the rise again and no one is doing anything about it. In the past few month gas has risen 30 cents so far to date. The news said reason for gas prices rising is due to the winter storm. To me there seem to be an excuse for every time they the gas companies bring the price of gas up. If you are falling for the bullshit the oil companies are saying the cost of the barrel is going up then were all bigger fools than the Arabs figures we are.

The price of gas to day right this minute in Saudi Arabia is .39 cent a gallon. Here is the biggest question that seems to have me wondering who is fucking who here. The Fuel Saudi gets is from us after we process it. This is how it s works an oil tanker come from Saudi Arabia we then process the oil into gas then ship it back on a fuel tanker to them and they sell it for less money than we Americans buy it for. There is something wrong with this picture. Doesn’t it cost more money to process it and so forth and be pay more but the Saudi’s pay much less. Boy our government is fucking its people over bad. I wonder why we haven’t question this since this is not a new topic but rather an old subject that pops up from time to time. This is just food for thought about why we are paying so much for it and it’s cheap to process as you can clearly see the Saudi’s are not paying much for it.

The cost to ship the oil to the USA and then ship the process fuel back and Saudi’s and they pay less at the gas pump than we do. I recommend we start complaining to the government why they are letting oil companies rob us blind.

This is my Rant on Rip off America, because it’s clearly that our government doesn’t give a shit about us all.

I'm sorry but it would be unethical to post the name of my shop. My intent was to alert people to ask questions if you feel the estimate is high, or even get another opinion. Dealers are doing whatever it takes to keep the shop full.....including phoney warranty repairs....although it doesn't cost you, it goes against your vehicle. I have heard that the one of the biggest motorcycle shops in town is hitting people right and left just to stay busy. Don't buy these stories.....go on line....ask questions.....talk to other people.....stay informed. Some years ago I had a Sunoco gas station in a location that pumped the gas for you. I went through a two week orientation and brainwashing. We were told that the guy at the pumps could keep the shop full. All he had to do was look at the wipers when he cleaned the windshield (I bet they don't clean your windshield very well anymore)....and when he asked to check your oil, that opened the door to anything he could spot under the hood.....belts, hoses ( they look like they will break any day), oil change (your oil looks really dirty sir/maam), air filter, valve cover gaskets, radiator cap, battery (that's going to let you down someday), you have a bad tire/tires.....excuse me.....when was the last time you repacked your front wheel bearings...that was before front wheel drive vehicles took over. It was endless.....and that is what is happening here today....your vehicle goes in for regular service, and you get that dreaded call.....(your car needs?????) and since it is here, we can do it cheaper than if you bring it back. People...go look for yourself....if you can't see it, get somebody that can......don't fall for these scams.

I'm ok with someone being fired for actual sexual harrassment but for "gawking"!!! The most troubling part of this story is that at one time as an employee of the Banner I was accused of the exactly the same thing. I was accused of "sexually staring" at a female employee.

Right off the bat I asked what exactly was "sexually staring"? No one in HR could give me an explanation yet accused me of doing it. With the economy as bad as it is, scam artists are on the prowl. I operate a small independant repair shop in Ocala. In the last few months I have seen way too many new customers come to my shop for an estimate on repairs with estimates they got elsewhere for work that wasn't needed. For example......just this week a Chevy Suburban came in with a coolant leak and an estimate from a local dealer for about $1,500.00 in repairs including head gaskets. The gaskes between the water pump and the engine was leaking. That was about a $90.00 repair.....and happy people. A Pontiac Grand Am and a $1,800 transmission estimate. A $120.00 repair which included a lock up switch, fluid and a gasket. A Rolls with a $3,200.00 estimate for Complete overhaul of the A/C. That turned out to be a thermal switch for $20.00 and minimum labor charge. I could go on....but I'm just so disgusted.....beware!!

All of my children did good in schools none of them were straight a students . None of them ever disrespected a teacher. Sure they spent time in detention 2 were suspended for fighting 1x .

Children vary on when they are to young to learn to act in an adult and a reasonable manner . ( times out of 10 that comes from how they are raised and taught. Kids and video game and disrespect (usa and the world of teens)

I was reading the rants and rave section today and I notice some stories about kids and video games. I have a friend who is in law enforcement and we have talked about something that comes close to home on this subject.

My friend we will call john told me how many times a week he’s had to either break up a fight at a local high school to how many arrest he’s done in a month over kids fighting over stupid video games. Kids will fight just about over anything now days and I know this because my kid sometimes gets a little out of hand. So then I bring the law down on him by taking his game system away and any internet communication he may have, period. I won’t let my kid disrespect me or others period paragraph.

My friend john has told me the horror stories how kids are now acting out life as if the games were real life. He said too many kids are bringing the gamer experience into the real world and this is getting dangerous for law enforcement.

I don’t let my kids play military style game since it involves violence and death. The rating on the games says it all. Parents should be more know legible about the games their kids play. My feeling on this is simple teens should spend more time playing sports than playing video games all week or weekend. Video games make your kids lazy and argumentative as I have seen firsthand.

Allowing children to be disrespective to adults is a crime and just stupid parenting in my opinion. Facts are your kid will grow up to be a low life person with no goals in life and will end up in some criminal court for some violent offence they impose on some one.

This is my rant on bad parenting and video games from hell.

You sir are making a bad decision to let your child disrespect others whether or not the uncle is wrong or not it’s not up to the child to decide if he should respect an adult but it’s up to you the parent to handle the situation in an adult manner that separates the adult from the kid. You now have exposed your child to an adult level that they themselves can’t comprehend since most children haven’t developed the motor skills or even less can understand how to reason without making the right decision.

So parents when you read a post where the parent is allowing their kids to give disrespect that a child can’t comprehend nor understand the consequences, you are opening yourself up lawsuits, child services evoking child rights to being arrested child abuse. Just because you teach your child to be well mannered doesn’t make them weak. In today’s society there is no room for gangsters and children who have no respect for adults.

There are many kids in my school that I had to suspend due to disrespect to teachers and myself. one parent went to jail for child abuse and a few other laws that they broke when child services found out that they let their kids be disrespectful to all adults that ended up translating into major problems in the school. I will not say more due to parent student confidentiality.

Also one more thing to point out is that video games are so main stream now days that it has also made its way in to school with kids fighting over who beat who in a game that turned out into a major fight in my school and both kids were suspended over it. This was not the first case we have over a dozen cases this year alone. Last year was a disaster of the amount of children fighting over a stupid game. Parents need to watch what they are letting their kids play.

Here are the Last words of knowledge on this subject at hand. If you allow children to be out spoken in any kind of form of disrespect to other this will wash down to you your family and even law enforcement at some point. An ounce of prevention saves a pound of worries.

As a parent my children know the rules and live by the rules as a marine I keep my family straight clean and respectful to all they come across even if they are not respectful to them. It is better to have knowledge then to act like a mindless savage. My kids are not weak they just know how to carry themselves and when needed they know how to act upon those who will do wrong to them in a violent or physical kind of way. I teach them to turn the other cheek, but once both cheeks are turned and it doesn’t stop then you have to defend yourself.

My son plays Modern Warfare 2. He is 16 and very respectful. He plays online with people from all over the world and actually learns about other cultures and societies. My son and his friends probably curse around each other to a certain degree, but never around adults. It's the way they have been brought up. The media does play a big part in the downfall of respectability in kids. I have talked to my kid about this stuff since he was old enough to comprehend it. And I have taught him the difference between right and wrong. We still have to do that no matter what. Trash is all around us, all day, everyday. You can't escape it, but you don't have to let your kids fall in it. And I'm a single mother! There is no father in the picture to come down on him. Not that some of us didn't look the same to our own parents way back when but these days it's more of "in your face" attitude.

The difference, we lived and played in the real world not some made up fantasy that always seems to reflect two things, violence and sex. Violence and sex have been around since the days of Rome so that's nothing new. What is new is that these video games make the new generation believe that it's real life. It is not! Any logical adult can see that point of view. Unfortunately, kids do not!


How many times across the nation do we see or hear about some kind shooting another because it's "cool" and mistakenly believe that the victim will somehow reset or reboot and come back to life only to find themselves in prison for life? I don't blame the kids! I blame the adults starting with the money hungry manufactures of this crap right down to the parents who use these games as babysitters because it's too hard to be a good parent. Damn right it's hard! So get off your lazy asses and do something with your kids instead of slipping the CD or getting on line for hours of bullshit reality.

I have a Wii game at our home for the times when my grandkids come for a visit. I play the games with them and not one contains any violence. I only allow a one hour game time for each day they are here. The rest of time I spend with my grandkids playing oldfashioned, non-electronic games. I have spend hours upon hours building PlayDoh mountians with my grandson for his hotwheels. I'm the official PlayDoh pancake maker for my granddaughter. To be honest, it wears me out but I never hear trash talk from either of them. I have taken the time to pass my values down to them.

If you're having a problem with all this trash talk then my suggestion: UNPLUG THE X-BOX!!! That probably won't happen because I suspect you're one of those parents that use video games to babysit for you. If you have so much time that you can post about all the video game trash talk why don't you get off line yourself and spend some with your kids doing constructive things instead of complaining about your lack of responsiblity in their lives.

THe whole case in point is the headset n mic wasnt just about the game i mention in my earlier post. then again it is my fault for not adding more to it as a example instead of making one game a case. But now its out and parents will know that any game on xbox360. xbox live gaming where you use a head set will expose your children to harsh profanity and irate people that are trash mouth. this also will conclude child abuse on a verbal level. So as our last person stated against this post, she must be fore the verbal child abuse.

My opinion is this law enforcement should get involved cause i have heard child predator type people on these games being really nasty to kids who are like 10 and 8 years old on it and it just so nasty that xbox360 isnt doing anything about it. I'm sorry to disagree with you, what you're suggesting is akin to stating automobiles (insert your favorite make / model) are responsible for teen accidents or BAD driving. If parents raise their children to have respect for themselves then they are going to be more likely to have respect for others. This starts by YOU the parents demonstrating respect, restraint, kindness, love between yourselves and outwardly towards others. We all learn by example and to shift the blame/responsibility off to some piece of tech hardware/software is demonstrates failure for you as a parent!

BTW, video games have ratings, it's YOUR job as a parent to decide what is/isn't appropriate for your child's age or YOUR personal guidelines as to what's acceptable. I am sick of whining and complaining parents or even more so, the unconcerned parents who's children act out. This generation is filled with children/teens who believe they can do and say whatever they want without consequence. It's the PARENT's job to raise their children, not the schools, not the state!

Let me add this in the below statement is an example of what one bad rating game can do and has spread onto good rating games. This is about bad kids using the Headset & Mic as an abusive tool for profanity and vulgar use of language towards other even adult abuse to children. Also it doesn’t matter how much you teach your children to be good and perfect. They will still run into this kind of nasty abuse from others and we all know how easy it is for someone to act badass behind a game system. Anyone who disagrees is in denial and should at least check it out before passing judgment.

Yes I agree that parent need to teach their children to be better kids and a lot do but you also have to take that for every 1 kid that is good there are 10 that are not. There are xbox360 games that reveal a woman’s breast and lower regions. There are games that show gore and blood and guts. But you can never know if the kid your son or daughter is spending the night at has these kinds of games. The facts are you won’t know unless you inspect every game your kid’s friends have.

I blame technology for the growing trend that has now escalated into massive abuse world wide on these gaming systems. We all know that kids were abusive before there was a gaming system, and that stayed local. Now it has gone worldwide because the same kid now invokes his evilness to other everywhere. This then spreads like a disease to other kids that get fed up with other being abusive and it annoys them to the point they can’t concentrate on the game then they retaliate back and this is how it starts. A lot of parents don’t even know this is going on till it’s too late. In some cases kids will never tell you they do this or show it.


As you may or may not know about video games is the first person shooter games played online on Xbox360. Example is Call of Duty Modern Warfare2. What a lot of parents don’t know is their child may be being very disrespectful to adults and other while they are playing. You ask how is this so, it’s real simple those gamer controllers have a head set that plugs into them and you kid may be saying all kinds of dirty words or smart ass remarks to adults and other people playing the game. It’s all too common this happens. If your young kid or teenager is acting very distrustful to you and your family, it might be because he or she is so use to doing that to others online that now it’s slipping out in the real world with family and friends. If you say a lot of nasty stuff sooner or later it slips out with everyone.

If you are a parent and don’t know this it may be a better choice to monitor your child without them knowing it to catch them at it. Stopping them while they are young saves a lot of trouble later. Please don’t say your kid does nothing wrong, my brother said the same about his kid until I showed him on video what his kid was doing now they know. A lot of parents go blind to the fact they have a kid that is a smart mouth and think that it’s ok because there kid does well in school. Wait till he or she goes into high school with a smart mouth you will be called into the principal’s office more than once because you didn’t nip it in the bud when they started up.

Video games are to blame how kids are being disrespectful to other and you. When video game systems implemented a mic and headset they set the growing trend of young youths being nasty and disrespectful to others. This has been played out for at least the last 3 years now.

How can this be, it’s as simple as playing a first shooter game where you shoot other people as of war games and you communicate to others on your team where the team is. Say example blue team beats red team really bad. When the game is over all the players are now place in a lobby waiting for the next game to set its self for the next game play. While waiting some people may brag how bad they beat them and how much they suck ect. This may cause your kid to get upset and say stuff back before too long it turns into a dirty mouth fight. This is all kid stuff, but even adults get dragged into this and then it becomes verbal abuse. Or even child abuse on a mental level.

So next time decide what good for your kid is to play because I have seen kids as young as 4 years old saying very nasty thing to people that was downright profanity .

I tied up money in a property in a private subdivision and now I'm really regretting it. When I moved there, there was one man living behind me. The yard was junky but I said oh well, I'll put up a privacy fence and it will be okay. He seemed nice. Boy did I get suckered! Two months after living there, the one guy turned into a yard full of vagrants living in a stolen U-haul trailer! The guy was almost stalkerish and I had to put up no trespassing signs and ban him from entering my yard. After calling U-haul the hoard finally left. Every month after there was a new handful of trashy tenants with loud music and foul mouths. And after stomaching this for 2 years, now there are Rainbow people and more vagrants. My elderly mother and teen have to hear F*&# this and F*&# that all day. They've had tents in the yard so I can hear them snoring in my front yard. And even after calling the law for the loud music, the fire dept. for the fires at night and all the neighbors being pissed at this guy, he gets away with it. The law will do nothing. He's not breaking any law, he has "visitors"! Code Enforcement will do nothing. And the fire dept. wouldn't even fine him! How do white trash people like this get away with everything?! They ruin other people's lives and don't give a damn. Maybe one of those vagrants he drags up one night will bash him in the head, steal his cigarettes and haul ass!

First, to the guy with the pink shirt....if you hate your wife so much then WHY are you still with her? If you think she is SOOO awful then maybe you should just leave. Ever think of that? Its a SHIRT!!! Second thought on the subject, perhaps she got you the shirt to see if there was a reaction. It sounds as if you and her do not have the best relationship and you probably don't show her any attention and PERHAPS she thinks you may be "in the closet" or something. Maybe the shirt was to see if you would react, AND you did. It is sometimes said that people who have something to hide, or are ashamed of their true feelings freak out and over react so they can prove themselves to others. Any of this sound familiar?

As for the people that do not flush. I have 2 thoughts on this. One, people are just plain nasty and do not care about themselves or others. Honestly, look around you and tell me that there is not at LEAST 4 or 5 people you see in a day that you can say "yup, they don't flush, for sure". People are just gross. SECOND, the world has gotten SO wrapped up in having an Automatic World, they EXPECT the water to turn on for you, they EXPECT to have the paper towel dispenser to know when you are ready to dry your hands and they EXPECT the toilet to flush on its own. Sad sad sad. We live in a world that is SO lazy that we no longer feel the need to be able to do the simple things in life like open a door at the grocery store, have wheels on your shoes so you can skate around instead of walk and TAKE A DUMP WITHOUT FLUSHING!!!

Whatever happened to the old days when it was just a creepy uncle who touched you and you went on with your life? Now they kidnap and torture and kill you! A few months ago I took my riding mower to Buchalla and was told that it would cost me nearly $300 to fix it. I only took it there for a tuneup mindyou. They said I needed a new carburettor. I paid them $32 for labor and took it to another guy who serviced it for $50 and had it working just fine. He said that I never needed a new carburettor.
