HR Position w/Fed Government (Chicago, IL)

Federal HR Consultant


Escendent, a full service professional services firm is seeking a Federal Position Classification Specialist for our client which is located in Near Western suburbs of Chicago, IL (accessible by train, 15 minutes from downtown Chicago). Our client, a Federal/Government entity supports Government personnel with logistics, acquisition and financial solutions.

Note: This is a 6 month contract position with the option to renew. U.S. citizenship required and you must be able to successfully complete a Federal background investigation (not a clearance)

Position Overview
  • You will conduct outreach staffing efforts including, but not limited to developing General Schedule (GS) job vacancy announcements
  • You will conduct job analysis; performing rating and ranking of applications against established position criteria and/or staffing services in conjunction with reductions in workforce, transfers of functional and furloughs
  • You will produce GS vacancy announcements
  • You will analyst and determine the minimum qualifications of applications based on OPM qualifications standards upon the closing date of the vacancy announcement(s)
  • You will provide support to VA personnel in conducting Qualified Applicant Rating Panel(s), when required, to determine best qualified candidates from the vacancy announcement(s).
  • This will include (but not limited to) observing panel in progress and ensuring that panel participants have all documents required in ranking qualified applicants

    Requirements
  • You must have federal position classification experience within the federal government
  • You must have experience with HR laws, regulations and policy relating to Federal hiring
  • You must have expensive experience with Rating Panels
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • You must have extensive recruiting & staffing experience within the Federal Government
  • You must have extensive experience with GS (General Schedule) Vacancy Announcements
  • Extensive experience with MS Office and USAJOBS
