Have a collection of National Geographic magazines with two embossed bound slipcases for each year. Each slipcase holds 6 magazines (Jan - Jun & Jul - Dec). They are marked, in gold, "THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE" They are have a brown leather-look to them, very nice - still in very good condition with just a few small scuffs here and there. One year's slipcases retails for $15.95 at National Geographic's website (http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/ngs/product/magazines/slipcases/1998-slipcase).

NG collection includes both slipcases and magazines for:
1986 - missing Jan - Aug magazines - only have Sept - Dec

Nearly all traffic accidents are caused by a driver looking away from ahead too long or tailgating. Driver training schools stress neither. The booklet, Very Safe Driving, does.

Nearly all road-safety comes about when we mainly do three things: 1) look ahead most of the time while moving ahead, 2) complete any look elsewhere within one second, and 3) maintain as often as possible at least a safe interval between us and any driver we're following. Why and specifically how we drive this way are explained. And additional safe driving actions are mentioned.

You and your concern for safety are precious. The booklet, Very Safe Driving, likely will start a definite improvement in how safely and enjoyably you drive. Defensive driving and safe driving are clearly described. This website is to encourage you to get a copy of this booklet. After most of us get a driver's license, we drive nearly every day for the rest of our life. You'll never regret making effort now to drive more safely, because it will make safe driving more certain and easier in the future.

My identical twin brother, Roger, a professional driver for 25 years now, is correct when he says, "We can each drive more safely." But sadly, many of us are very busy and don't take time to think about driving more safely. And in many of us is a tendency to resist change, to continue as we have even if it hasn't been working well. Do we occasionally have a close call and have to brake hard unexpectedly? Do we drive with anxiety? Do we normally enjoy driving? To my brother's comment should be added "Each of us could rather easily drive more safely, even more enjoyably, simply by knowing which attitudes and actions promote safety and which don't."

My brother's comment "we could each drive more safely" means Very Safe Driving is appropriate for all drivers. It will even ensure that anyone about to take a driver training course from a commercial school will do his or her 'behind the wheel' safely. Even students whose high school doesn't offer driver training will find the booklet very helpful. In fact, that it's a must for every driver is not an arrogant statement.
