What is it with you and medical related bankruptcies? Medical bankruptcies are usually bogus, first of all creditors look at past due medical bills as minor flaws in a credit report and will overlook them when considering a loan if all the other credit is good. Many of the bankruptcies you speak of were only possible to get a court to allow because the medical bills made the party's total debt high enough to consider granting the bankruptcy. Second, and way more important, we should supply health coverage someway for those who can't afford it because they are poor, and we already have those programs in place, they may need some re-structuring or tune ups, but they are there. Why should we build a whole new government boondoggle to go with the thousands of others we have already suffered?.

New horse rescue needs volunteers (el dorado hills)
Most horse rescues are at capacity, and the ever increasing need for horse care and relief resulting from foreclosures, abandonment, neglect, slaughter, the economy, and other-related challenges prompted formation of a non-profit horse rescue organization.
We are a start-up organization,and we are looking for volunteers that might be able to help support the effort. There is a lot to be done as we progress/grow, both administratively and at facility, as well as with daily operations and horse care.
However, our biggest need right now is help with FUNDRAISING! We have the space to house a lot of horses, but not the funds to care for more than we have. Experienced horse handlers are also needed to work with unhandled horses. We also need funds to get insurance in place so we can have volunteers on site. If you have experience with fundraising and would like to help save horses, please email

OBAMA'S REAL DEATH PANELS

NEW YORK--Shortly after 9/11, George W. Bush secretly signed two executive orders. Both violated basic constitutional protections as well as U.S. obligations under international treaties, yet both carried the force of law.
They still do.
The first order grants the president (and other officials, including the secretary of defense, the secretary of homeland security and presumably certain postal clerks) the right to declare anyone--including an American citizen--an "[b]unlawful enemy combatant."[/b] A person so declared has no redress, no way to appeal, no ability to challenge that designation. Once a person has been named an enemy combatant, according to the Bush Administration--and now to the Obama Administration--he has no rights. He can be held without charges forever, tortured, you name it--well, actually, the president or the secretary of defense names it.
In the second covert executive order, Bush authorized the CIA to target and assassinate said "enemy combatants"--again, including American citizens.
These two documents first came into play on November 3, 2002, when a CIA-operated Predator drone plane violating Yemeni airspace fired a Hellfire missile at a car containing Qaed Salim Sinan al-Harethi, supposedly Al Qaeda's #1 man in Yemen at the time.
U.S. officials didn't know that an American citizen, Kamal Derwish, was riding along. (You know what they say about hitchhiking.) "The Bush administration said the killing of an American in this fashion was legal...this is legal because the president and his lawyers say so--it's not much more complicated than that," CBS News reported at the time. "I can assure you that no constitutional questions are raised here," said Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, after the CIA assassinations. "He's well within the balance of accepted practice and the letter of his constitutional authority."
It's right there in the Constitution between the right to tax and the repeal of Prohibition.
Anyway, Congress tried to clarify matters in the Military Commissions Act of 2006, part of which--the section that eliminated the writ of habeas corpus--got struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court last year. But the rest of the MCA remains in force, including a passage that defines an enemy combatant as anyone who provides "material support" to the "enemy." And who is the enemy? The enemy is anyone the president says it/he/she/they is.
Again, there is no distinction between foreigners and U.S. citizens.
Jose Padilla, the so-called would-be "dirty bomber" held in a Navy brig since 2002, was tried and convicted of such "material support" charges in 2007. (The government couldn't prosecute Padilla for their original dirty bomb charges because they had tortured him so severely that he had been reduced to mental mush.)
Now that times have supposedly changed, it's time to ask: why hasn't President Obama abrogated Bush's controversial executive orders? If Obama truly seeks a break with the lawlessness of the prior administration, what better way to enact it?
Simply put, no one man--not even a nice, articulate, charismatic one--ought to claim the right to suspend a person's constitutional rights. Not in America. Certainly no one man--not even a young, handsome, likeable one--should be able to have anyone he wants whacked. Even in dictatorships, the right of life and death is reserved for judges and juries operating under a system purportedly designed to support impartiality and a search for the truth.
But that's not the case here in the United States. In 2002 Scott Silliman, director of the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security at Duke University asked: "Could you put a Hellfire missile into a car in Washington, D.C., under [the Bush] theory? The answer is yes, you could."
Nothing much has changed since then. Obama has eliminated the use of the phrase "enemy combatant," but The New York Times reported that the change is merely meant to "symbolically separate the new administration from Bush detention policies." The words may have changed, but Obama attorney general Eric Holder's definition of who can and cannot be held, said the Times, is "not significantly different from the one used by the Bush administration."
These days, Obama has ramped up the assassination of political opponents of the U.S. and the U.S.-aligned authoritarian regime in Pakistan, deploying more Predator drone plane attacks than Bush. But that's just for now. Obama could still personally order a government agency to murder you.
Which is weird. But not nearly as weird as the fact that you probably don't care enough to do something about it.

Keyboardist looking ....for the right fit (Sacramento)
I am a younger keyboard player (18) with lots of experience looking for a gigging band who needs to add that perfect sound. I prefer originals and a band who would be interested in using my writing skills rather then someone writing all my parts and not ask me if I have any ideas. Sorry but that really annoys me. I can understand a song already written and it needs to be a certain way. I want a band that is a team rather then a big ego running the show or one guy who writes all the songs and does not want any input from other members. I also have NO age issues. For me it is about the music.
I write compositions and can add very big sounds to music. I am very good with melodic/symphonic/classical metal but I can do just about any music but I am really loving the Avant Garde. I am very versatile and a multi-instrumentalist. My favorite styles and bands are: Avant Garde, Complex-type music, Symphonic Metal, Japanese, Classical, Film Score, Technical Death Metal, some Black Metal, Old School Hip Hop, Melodic Death Metal, Swing Metal, Opera Metal, and pretty much any other weird metal genre out there.... I really like everything. I know so many bands its ridiculous. Some of my favorite bands are Nightwish, Unexpect, Mr. Bungle, Maximum The Hormone, Wintersun, Estradasphere

I am just putting this out there, I am in no rush as I am scoring orchestral pieces right now and writing for another band. I was offered a scholarship in Composition at Berklee College of Music but I am very interested in seeing what I can do on my own in this year to come before I decide if I want to go or not. I agree with you except two things:
1) Being a parent is a thankless job itself. I'm not a parent, I too am a provider, but I understand that it goes both ways.
2) Why bring religion into this? Christianity doesnt have to play a part in this at all. There are many issues I dont even want to go in regarding Christianity and compassion for others. Also, there are so many other religions, or like me who is very compassionate and is not religious at all.

Are you serious? To say that metal, screamo, hardcore, techno, and rap/hiphop is not musical is showing how close minded you are as a record producer. These things all have an amount of musical talent required. As a musician geared toward metal, I can tell you that metal DEFINITELY takes some skill in order to be successful in the genre. And, you probably are not very decent at what you are offering to do. If you are close minded like that your recording is probably not going to be good, no matter what you are recording. You will probably go nowhere.

My husband and I had always planned for me to be a stay at home mother, but thanks to the economy, I had to go back to work far sooner than anticipated. I am SO happy we found Busy Brains Preschool! We immediately connected with Tasia and her family and our daughter, Carmen, has grown and blossomed immensely since she started attending.
When we made the tough decision to place Carmen outside of our home, my husband and I worried that we would have to choose between a good learning environment and a gentle loving environment for our daughter, but Tasia has truly proven us wrong! There is no doubt in my mind that Carmen feels safe and secure and loved all day, or that she is learning beyond her age level. She impresses all of our friends and family with how much she has learned and we attribute that mostly to the gentle guidance and positive, proactive approach at Busy Brains. We also adore how the families are invited to be involved in the care of the children, and we have had so much fun meeting the other families at events and participating in activities with Carmen and her friends!
Watching Tasia and her staff with my daughter has continuously inspired me to be the most attentive, gentle and involved mother I can possibly be. Working mothers are under a lot of pressure these days and I cannot explain how much it takes off of my shoulders to know that my daughter is not only well taken care of, but loved and happy, while I am at the office.
I now joke to everyone that I wouldn't be able to be a stay at home mother without seriously stepping up my game... Busy Brains Preschool has set the bar very high in the complete care (physical, emotional and educational!) of our little girl! We can't imagine Carmen being anywhere else and we look forward to all the fun to come as she continues to learn and grow under the care of such an amazing provider!

Puppy needs a new home! (Sacramento)
I hate to do this and wouldn't consider myself the type of person that would give up her animal...
But, unfortunately, we've completely underestimated the needs of a puppy while trying to work night shifts! This poor thing needs a new home with people that have the time and ENERGY for a puppy.
She's about 5 months old, lab mix from the SPCA. Great dog, loves to cuddle, loves to chew (be sure to have plenty of toys on hand!), shots up to date, microchipped, spayed. Fantastic with other dogs. We've taken her to the dog park in Land Park a few times and she does SO WELL. Not afraid of a thing! Knows "sit" but we haven't been able to work with other commands in the month that we have had her. Very gentle with my 1 year-old daughter (though, she has been known to steal her toys on occasion!). We never fed her table scraps so she doesn't beg. Does well on leash but a little skiddish on car rides (usually have to pick her up and put her into the car). Somewhat house trained/crate trained, definitely needs someone who can be a little more strict or observant with this training.
"Coffee" (we were completely sleep deprived when trying to come up with a name!) will be a really loving addition to the right family. I'm really sad to see her go, but it's unfair to keep her at this point. She needs someone to cuddle and play ball with. She needs walks and owners that have the time to train her and bring out her potential. Please be that person for her!
Asking for a $75 rehoming fee. We have her on "Pedigree" dog food and will include what food we have left (about half a bag). She is outgrowing the crate that we have kept her in, but you can always find one on CL!

Neatherland Dwarf (South Sacramento)
I have a Neatherland Dwarf rabbit. He is a male, a little under a year old. His name is Thumper. He is mostly a blue/grey color with a few tiny small white markings on his nose, tail, and feet. He is very social, he got along very well with my cat and small dogs. I love him very much but I can not keep him. He was my nephews who has since moved out of state. I can not offer him the attention he needs and feel it is in his best interest to go with a loving person who can. He comes with a cage, a leash with a harness (so he can play in the yard), a bag of food, and also a bag of bedding. Please only people sincere, he is not snake food or anything like that. Please help save cats from being put to sleep. Rescue on 10/16
Foster homes and permanent homes needed badly for cats that will be put to sleep otherwise. Cats, kittens, semi-ferals, etc... all need to be saved. Looking for at least 50 placements. Foster a litter of kittens with mom, or even just one or two. Have a farm that you can offer shelter at for a semi-feral kitty? Please, need serious help here. These cats are in immediate danger of being killed and unless I have places for them to go, I cannot put holds on them to save them. There are close to 200 at the (Kings County) shelter at the moment, but if we at least remove 50 of them, that would give the rest a lot more time to find homes. Kitten season is slowing down, so this would save a LOT of lives.
Please help. Ill need volunteers to meet me in sacramento on the afternoon of the 16th. Email and phone correspondence before hand will be necessary and if adoption of a kitty is specified, pertinent paperwork will be included at the time of meeting on the 16th.
Private rescues are more then welcome to assist. Spay and neuter of any cats adopted out is of utmost importance, so keep that in mind.

They are 11 weeks old.... we have had them and their Mom since they were born...
They have not had their 1st shots, Am planning to do that this weekend (the 7th)...
They ARE litter box trained..
They have never been outside...
The orange one is a male & the white/gray/black one is female...
They are VERY playful...
They eat regular dry cat food but love canned cat food or canned tuna as a treat once in a while...
