Photographer wanted for party (Rancho Cordova)

I'm throwing a big birthday party on Sat Nov 21 from 7pm to 12:30am. It's dressy and there will be around 100 people there, maybe more. I'm having a live band, dance performances, a magician, and more.

I want to have a photographer available to take photos of people.

I was thinking that the photographer could have a corner of the building (it's a two story building) and take photos from 7 to 8:30pm, run down to a local Rite Aid or Walgreens and get the one hour photo service and bring back finished prints for people (I'd have it go later, but Rite Aid or Walgreens stores in the area close by 10pm). You can charge what you want (but keep it reasonable - maybe $10 for an 8x10 or $3-5 for a 4 x 6?) and keep it all (with a free couple of photos of me).

Maybe you could even bring a laptop, do digital pics and send them to be processed online and then pick up the prints (?)

I can't guarantee how many people will want pics but since they will be dressed up, it will be a good opportunity.

The project that I am calling 'Pandora' explores the relationship between people and their most precious items. Our new DBA has caused an urgent need for a new logo. We are a complete wellness cooperative that will provide Chiropractic, acupuncture, diverse massage methods, Yoga, and other services and training for our members. We will also teach growing and cooking with medical cannabis as well as providing ingredients. We will be directing our marketing efforts to adults 30+ with an emphasis on total alternative wellness and health care.

The copy protected name is 1Love Wellness The name itself allows the possibility to graphically replace words. Love by a heart, wellness I have seen associated with an illustration on a healthy man nude, but not sexually detailed, with his arms out at about a 45 degree angle. Another possible graphic is the one used for "medical”. One thought is to have Mr./Ms wellness with arms out holding the number 1 in one hand, and a heart in the other, possibly resembling/feeling "scales of justice" and balance. Do not limit yourself to these thoughts.

This is an open invitation for amateurs, students, and professionals to submit draft design for the logo illustration. All submissions that pass 1st review will receive $25; the top three will receive $100 each. The winning designer will be contracted to complete the logo, letterhead, envelopes, and brochures. If you have website experience you could get that contract also. Get your drafts in early, even hand drawn concepts will be considered. We will make a decision by 6 PM Saturday 10/31.

future grad student needs subjects for a photography project

What do you keep in your treasure box?

That is the question that I am trying to answer with my documentary photography project. The project that I am calling 'Pandora' explores the relationship between people and their most precious items. It consists of a portrait of the owner as well as a still life of the items inside the box. Have an old shoe box with your old photos and notes from when you were young? What about that little jewelry box with your grandfather's dog tags? If either of these sound familiar I would love to photograph you and your box! Just send me a message and we can arrange a time/place to shoot! I am especially eager to photograph anyone 30 years old and over, because I am hoping to expand the age range of my subjects.
