Hours of Work: Various times, usually work is during the day. Our laborers (drillers and helpers) generally show up at the yard anytime between 4:30am and 6:30am. If you have a yard day, start time is generally later, say 8am-to-10am, in order to work a bit later and help the crews get their trucks loaded for the next day. Sometimes there is night work (1 - 3 nights a year). Weekend work is usually voluntary when available, mandatory weekend work is generally only several times a year. Regardless we work very long hours (12-16 hours is not uncommon in a day). A lot of our work requires employees to stay out of town during the week due to the travel distance and DOT laws.

Job Description: Help drill and install wells, teach crew members and monitor their progress, keep the client happy at all times, teach employees how to maintain equipment, shovel, clean augers, drive trucks properly to work site and back, weld, basically teach and help do anything that needs to be done. This position consists of mainly outdoor work, with occasional indoor work, some paperwork (writing JSAs - Job Safety Analysis, SOPs –Standard Operating Procedures and/or training videos, and completing weekly maintenance inspection sheets on the equipment).

Other considerations: Very demanding/physical work, requires someone who likes to work out doors, heavy lifting (100/lb + -), lots of travel to different towns and locations throughout Northern California, some overnight stays (figure once every week, but could be a bit more or a lot less depending on operation).
