    Licensed Vocational Nurse (South Sacramento)

    Job is either part time (20hrs/wk) or full time. Will consider either one indvidual to work both locations (40 hrs/wk) or two individuals to work at either location (20 hrs/wk). The two programs are the Crisis Residential Program (CRP) which is a 12 bed crisis program for individuals with mental health issues who are working at staying out of the hospital. The second program is the Transitional Support Service (TSS) which is a program providing support to dually diagnosed individuals. Primary responsibilities for CRP include reviewing health quesitonnaires with clients/staff; conducting by-weekly medication education groups for clients; medication training for staff; oversee use of sample medications; audit medication records against MD orders; application of mental health skills; screen clients for TB; occasionally administer injections. Primary responsibilities for TSS include preparation of pre-packaged medications for outreach one day a week; administration of injections one day a week; occasional administration of TB tests; oversee medication outreach program; be a resource to staff with regard to medication related issues.

    Clinical Research Audit Assistant - Pediatric Oncology Program - (Limi (Sacramento, CA)

    The Clinical Research Audit Assistant is responsible and accountable for ensuring that all patients enrolled into Children's Oncology Group (COG) Clinical Trials at Sutter Memorial Hospital meets the Biology, Therapeutic, and Registry protocol eligibility requirements.  The incumbent works closely with the Principal Investigators, Pediatric Hematology Nurses, Senior Clinical Research Associates, patients and their families in ensuring proper documentation of the consenting process.  The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that all COG and the patient charts of other Pharmaceutical company trials remain audit-ready at all times.  The incumbent is responsible for scheduling and coordinating monthly internal audits with the Pediatric Oncology PI(s) and the Senior CRA(s).  The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring revised protocol consents (in which changes directly affect the patient) are presented to the patient/family and signed off in a timely manner.
     
    This is a 3 year/156 week Limited Term position.  The position will be full-time, 80 hours per pay period for the first 90 days of employment; the position will be part-time, 48 hours per pay period for the remainder of the Limited Term contract. 
     
    Education:  Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree required. Masters degree preferred

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Team Leader collaborates with other services and agencies such as the Conservator's Office, Public Defender's Office, Child Protective Services, Probation Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, County Mental Health Services and other Health Service Providers. Flexible work schedules may be required, including evening and weekend hours. 80% of services are provided in the field, requiring the use of a personal vehicle. This position requires 24/7 coverage (including crisis phone line and on-site response) as needed.



QUALIFICATIONS

-Two years of experience providing direct clinical services to people who have been diagnosed with a mental illness, preferably working with persons experiencing serious mental illness
-Experience in providing supervision preferred
-Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited graduate school
-Licensed by the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist or Licensed RN with a MSN is required
-Must have valid California driver's license, access to a car for the use of community visits/transporting clients and pass a motor vehicle safety inspection
-Knowledge and ability to use public transportation
-Must possess proof of insurance and receive a motor vehicle record clearance
-Ability to work effectively as a member of a culturally competent multidisciplinary team, a thorough understanding of member rights, an understanding of the conservatorship process, knowledge of basic medical terminology, psychiatric diagnoses, clinical interventions service planning and documentation of services

    • Extensive experience in educating and training colleagues (e.g., psychologists, therapists) on nutritional matters and relating to colleagues in a way that facilitates respectful and collegial work relationships.


    • Extensive experience in creating weekly menus for individuals that are tailored to their specific nutritional needs and that take into account patients' readiness for change, ability to manipulate or sabotage progress, etc.


    • Experience with the concepts and application of Intuitive Eating and non-diet approaches.


    • Experience with weight loss surgeries (pre and post) within a binge-eating disorder population.
