Web-based Database Developer (Sacramento)

Local Investment Firm is seeking an experienced database developer to consult with us and design a single database that integrates multiple web-based databases into one. Please have extensive experience in this arena (5+ years is desirable, 10+ is better ) and have examples of work that you performed solely or as the lead of an organization. Web Application Developer (Sacramento, CA)

Full time position (telecommuting within Northern California possible after training) on a small, dedicated team responsible for the StreamSend email marketing application. As a Web Application Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing the application. You must function well as a member of the development team (requiring excellent teamwork and communication skills) but also as an independent developer (requiring superior problem solving and time management skills, not to mention strong creativity.)

Responsibilities:

- Implement new features and functionality quickly, efficiently, and effectively
- Work with support staff to identify and resolve defects

- Monitor application performance and optimize code and application architecture

Experience

SUMMARY:

We have a current opening for a Physicist whose key focus will be the concept, development, simulation, analysis, documentation, and implementation of algorithms into embedded systems in current and future products for both existing and emerging markets. This person will conceive new algorithm approaches and champion the integration of these new concepts onto PNI Corporation’s technology roadmap. He or she will evaluate and simulate the performance of these new algorithms in MATLAB in context to evolving performance requirements and make recommendations for incorporation into future PNI products. The ideal candidate will be self driven, have a strong technical background, and experience with Kalman filtering and L1/L2 carrier phase GPS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop concepts for new algorithms, create MATLAB simulations of these concepts, and perform and document results of Monte Carlo tolerance analyses and use these results to recommend performance enhancements, design changes, define design control limits, and validate or invalidate capability of design.

· Integrate data from multiple sensors, including carrier phase GPS signals, using advanced sensor fusion algorithm techniques, such as Kalman filtering.

· Optimize algorithms against speed, memory usage, and output quality to deliver optimized solutions for given design hardware constraints.

· Perform hands-on algorithm validation testing as well as direct experiments to be carried out by support personnel.

· Evaluate algorithm accuracy and repeatability using real and simulated data.

· Document new ideas in laboratory notebook, submit invention disclosures, and support PNI patent attorneys through the patent process.

· Overcome challenges and/or limitations with integration of carrier phase GPS signals with different sensor fusion algorithm approaches.

· Accountable for transition of MATLAB algorithms to efficient embedded C/C++ code in manufacturing infrastructure, calibration systems, and products.

· Document algorithm specifications, flowcharts, and version description documentation.

· Participate in and provide required support for the preparation of technical project reviews and NPI gate reviews.

· Use extensive knowledge and experience in the realization of algorithms in products to champion best practices for PNI engineering.

· Ensures that all activities are carried out in compliance with PNI Safety Program and local, state and federal safety regulations.

· Other duties as assigned by manager.
