Resource Center Manager (Rancho Cordova)

SUMMARY
This is an exempt position that provides leadership and coordination of the Effective Parenting Initiative and a Partnership Resource Center that serves the Rancho Cordova and Folsom community. The Resource Center Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Effective Parenting Initiative and the Partnership Resource Center. The Resource Center Manager supervises the activities of the Resource Center Aides. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Responsible for all aspects of the Effective Parenting Initiative (EPI) and the Partnership Resource Center (PRC).
2. Facilitate groups, classes and workshops for PRC.
3. Resource development for the PCR.
4. Prepare data and narrative reports for EPI and PRC.
5. Supervise, coordinate training, and evaluate assigned Resource Center Aides.
6. Coordinate all aspects of PRC activities, including Play Care, Parent Time-outs, transportation of participants, off-site activity locations, participant record keeping, refreshments, materials, event evaluation, etc.
7. Develop protocol, procedure, curriculum, facilitator/instructor training and scheduling for the PRC trainings, workshops, groups, social events, and classes.
8. Coordinate outreach and engagement efforts with families and the community-at-large.
9. Maintain and report all required documentation on PRC activities and ensure timely and accurate completion of file notes and data collection.
10. Ensure services provided through the PRC meet contract obligations, including contracts with the County of Sacramento and First 5 Sacramento.
11. Participate in staff, MRT, supervision and Collaborative meetings and trainings.
11. Establish linkages within the broader community to expand the scope and menu of workshops, trainings and group experiences for PRC families.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in social work, early childhood development or related field required,
• Minimum of two years experience managing programs / projects in a non-profit setting required,
• Education, experience and/or demonstrated skills in supervision, group facilitation, training, event coordination, record keeping and reporting
• Experience in parent education and early childhood education required,
• Demonstrating excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking,
• Bi-lingual Spanish or Russian desirable,
• Valid California Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle required,
• Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a mandatory driving record and background check.

PRIMARY EFFORTS:
Manage the Raiser’s Edge database of donors.

Perform the Development Department’s data entry tasks.

Provide customer service to Museum members and donors that meets the standards of the Museum.

Assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities.

Provide administrative support to the Development Department.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Database administration
• Serve as system administrator for the Museum’s donor database system (Raiser’s Edge). Maintain systems and protocols for database integrity. Assist with training staff in database use and function.

• Produce reports, queries, mailing lists, and exports as needed.

• Oversee or assist with the monthly reconciliation of Raiser’s Edge data with financial data from the Finance Department.

• Assist with integration of Raiser’s Edge with Patron Edge ticketing software.

Data entry
• Enter daily gift transactions into Raiser’s Edge, including memberships, capital campaign contributions, and annual fund. Prepare acknowledgment letters for these gifts.

• Oversee temporary data entry staff during times of high volume.

• Enter and update biographical and address information, event attendance, and other special codes to maintain the database at a peak level of accuracy.

• Perform other data entry tasks as assigned.

Membership and donor services
• Provide excellent customer service via telephone, email and U.S. mail to Museum members and donors. Have a complete understanding of Museum activities and products in order to communicate this information effectively to members.

• Oversee fulfillment of membership benefits, focusing on members at levels below $1,000 per year. Prepare and mail membership cards and other materials, or supervise this work by a volunteer.

• Recruit and supervise membership volunteers.

• Communicate with Visitor Service Representatives to ensure proper coding and smooth processing of onsite membership sales. Process weekly onsite membership transactions.

• Be present during select Museum events to sell memberships, greet guests, answer questions and do other tasks as assigned.

• Solicit and sell memberships as assigned.

• Perform stewardship activities to boost donor retention. This includes making “thank you” phone calls, producing donor recognition lists and signage, and other tasks as assigned.

Administrative tasks
• Provide administrative support to the Development Department.


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• AA or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years office experience
• Impeccable eye for detail and an aptitude for working with databases. Prior Raiser’s Edge or other database experience highly desirable.

OVERVIEW:
As a member of the Leadership Team, the Director of Fund Development and Communications (FD&C) reports directly to the CEO and works interdependently with all members of the Leadership Team to fulfill the mission of the Sacramento Children’s Home. In collaboration with the Board of Director’s Fund Development Committee, this position is responsible for the creation and management of a comprehensive and diversified fund development, public relations and volunteer services program. QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field, or the equivalent combination of a BA degree and related work experience demonstrating the knowledge and application of the principles of fundraising, marketing and public relations is required.

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience as a Director or Manager of fundraising, marketing or public relations programs is preferred.

    Education and/or Experience:

    · Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in appropriate field. Master’s degree desirable.

    Position Description
    The Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDC) conducts thorough intake, assessment, treatment planning and provides individual, group, and family counseling as required, and coordinates a Treatment Plan which lings clients to medical and other community resources, provides outreach, education and referral.

    Duties, Knowledge, and Abilities.

    Duties:

    • Provide individual and family AOD counseling to “at-risk” youth and their families.
    • Conduct home and school visits based on client need.
    • Maintain a caseload of minimum 25 and up to 50 clients.
    • Use of 12 core functions for treatment.
    • Facilitate group counseling.
    • Create treatment plan identifying short and long term goals.
    • Complete 5 axis diagnosis based on the DSM IV TR.
    • Provide case management to all cases as needed.
    • Complete progress notes that adhere to county guidelines.
    • Attend clinical rounds with treatment team addressing needs of clients.
    • Other Duties as assigned.
    Knowledge (preferred)

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the multi-cultural and psychosocial needs of youth; demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team; knowledge of DSM-IV. Must be competent in crisis interventions. Must be familiar with confidentiality and abuse/neglect reporting laws and client rights.
    • HIPPA laws regarding Adolescent Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug treatment.
    • Title 22 Drug Medic-Cal regulations

    Experience:
    • Experience providing AOD counseling and/or mental health services to high-risk populations. Prior experience with substance abuse populations.

    Must have demonstrated public relations skills that include effective oral and written communication at various levels.

    Executive Director, Sierra County Arts Council (Downieville and Sierra County)

    The Sierra County Arts Council (SCAC) is a small, rural non-profit agency based in Downieville, CA. The Arts Council is largely volunteer-based, but receives some funding from the California Arts Council, foundations, memberships, donations, and ticket sales.

    The SCAC is looking for an energetic and creative Executive Director to develop program, grow the budget, supervise volunteers, and generally represent the Arts Council to the community. While this position will initially be part-time (due to budget constraints), the Arts Council expects the Executive Director position to grow into a full-time commitment.

    The SCAC is operating partner for the county-owned, 189-seat historic Yuba Theatre in Downieville. A large part of the Executive Director's position will involve programming for the theater, in cooperation with the Board of Directors and community volunteers.

    In addition, the SCAC is custodian of the historic Shady Flat cabin on the Yuba River near Downieville. The Board is exploring the possibility of converting this scenic site into a community arts center.

    The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the agency and is expected to position the SCAC as a leader in Sierra County's artistic and cultural community. The Executive Director serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors and acts as professional advisor to the Board of Directors, the general membership, the Sierra County Board of Supervisors, and other official groups and agencies serving the county. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for all material resources belonging to the SCAC. The position is based in Downieville, although the Executive Director is expected to serve the entire county.

    As the Executive Director will serve all of Sierra County and must interface with external agencies, some travel will be required as part of this position.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree or set of life experiences appropriate to the position.
    Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

    • Maintain the Arts Council web site. Develop the web site in conjunction with the Board, technical volunteers, and web consultants.
    • Advertise and maintain regular business hours at the SCAC business office in the Yuba Theatre, and maintain all files and records. Purchase supplies and equipment as necessary.
    • Build and maintain strong public relationships with business, government, school, and community leaders. Represent SCAC at community programs and activities and at official meetings.
    • Build and maintain a strong relationship with the California Arts Council (CAC) through the State-Local Partnership Program. This includes attending all meetings hosted by the CAC that require SCAC participation as part of this program.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Plumas Arts, Placer Arts, and other nearby arts councils and arts groups.
    • Attend regular meetings of the Board of Directors. Prepare a monthly Executive Director's report to be presented to the Board.

    OVERVIEW:

Provide weekly updates to unit manager.     Supported Living Program Supervisor (Sacramento Area )

    We are seeking a full-time Supported Living Program Supervisor for a busy private non-profit agency. The Supportive Living Program Supervisor will carry out the administrative and supervisory responsibilities for the Supportive Living Services (SLS) Program.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
    · Supervise the delivery of SLS by direct service personnel;

    DESCRIPTION: The Substance Abuse Specialist/Case Manager coordinates all services and resources to clients on their caseload. The goal of the Substance Abuse Specialist/Case Manager is to provide referrals, crisis intervention, support and encouragement to enable the client to choose, find and keep permanent housing. This position assists clients with vocational/ employment issues, as well as financial matters and entitlement issues as applicable. The Substance Abuse Specialist/Case Manager will be responsible for providing direct services including substance abuse assessments, individual and group counseling, and education and information to benefit clients who are dually diagnosed. This position will work closely with other program staff and community substance abuse resources.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    At least 2 years experience working with psychiatric disabled individuals.
    At least 2 years work experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably with people who are dually diagnosed (mental health & substance abuse). Personal experience with recovery will be considered.
    Previous work experience with MediCal billing.
    Demonstrated mastery of basic writing skills, including the ability to write/maintain clear and accurate case notes and reports.
    Excellent oral communication skills.
    Ability to interview, assess for substance abuse and make an appropriate intervention plan for adults with a psychiatric disability and with substance abuse problems.
    Ability to advocate for and coordinate community services and housing options for dually diagnosed clients.

The Case Worker will work with 40 formerly chroniclly homeless residents living in homes at scattered sites throughout the city of Sacramento facilitating group living, group dynamics and living skills training. Individualized case management with wrap-around services and support for community activities are offered to all residents. Assistance with immedate needs such as obtaining food, clothing or medical attention. Harm reduction stratagies. Mental health and AOD assessment, referrals and relapse prevention. Crisis intervention.
    Qualifications include: BA/BS degree in related field or at least two years of related work experience. Experience working in human services, particularly with homeless/disabled people. An ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Extensive local travel is required, so the applicant must have reliable personal transportation.

    The below positions are non-Sacramento Children’s Home positions, they are positions within the Sacramento Children’s Home Family Resource Center and Birth and Beyond program working as service members through AmeriCorps.     SUMMARY:

    Family Resource Center Aide:
    The FRC Aide is responsible for assisting the Family Resources Center Supervisor in coordinating all aspects of the Family Resource Center. The FRC provides group day care, facilitates groups, assists in community outreach, engagement, and referrals, develops and promotes community events and activities, provides case management to FRC families and supports Birth and Beyond Home Visitors on home visits, in addition to serving a small caseload of home visitation clients as well.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bi-Lingual in Spanish a PLUS!!

    • Preferred enrolled in an accredited college/university or willingness/desire to attend; AA or BA Degree in a Social Science is highly desired.

    Research Assistant (Sacramento)

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the California Tribal Epidemiology Program Director, the Research Assistant will assist the Epidemiology Department on specific research and health data processing projects.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Assists in data collection activities such as surveys of American Indian communities under supervision.
    2. Performs data entry and data set cleaning, utilizing computer software such as Excel, SAS, SPSS or STATA.
    3. Assists in preparing and formatting tables for reporting of data.
    4. Assists in the production of presentations of research results.
    5. Assists in the production of research reports and tables.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Maintain a valid, unrestricted California Driver’s license and ability to be insurable under CRIHB’s automobile insurance. If employee has a valid license from another state, he/she must obtain a CA license within 2 months of hiring date.

    Director, Immunization Coalition and Registry Program (Sacramento, CA)

    Summary: Coordinates a seven county coalition that promotes immunizations to protect the health of individuals across their lifespan and implements and manages a program to market and support an immunization registry for use by public and private immunization providers in the seven county region.     Administration:
