Adventure Education Facilitators (Lumberton, NJ)
Ironwood Outdoor Center is looking for reliable staff to help us with our ropes course programs. Staff must be at least 18 years old, have experience working with children and teens, enjoy being outdoors, experience with at-risk youth a plus, and a desire to have fun at work.
Ironwood is a division of the Children’s Resource Center, a New Jersey non profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to provide for the betterment of children, youth and their families by offering alternative learning experiences. It is located on an ecologically diverse 84 acre preserve on the Rancocas Creek. It boasts a 6,000 square foot swimming pool, toddler pool, sensory garden, hiking nature trails, high & low ropes course, camping, and public access for canoeing and kayaking. In May of 2008, IOC built a high ropes course which gives children, families and groups the opportunity to connect with nature, gain knowledge, and challenge themselves, by building self-confidence and cultivating positive values.
This is a part time seasonal position. This is a great side job to make a little extra money while having fun!
Responsibilities include:
• Facilitation on our high and low ropes course working with children 5th grade and up
• Set up and Take down on program days
• Extra hours available helping out with canoe and kayak programs

RESIDENTIAL SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR (JERSEYSHORE)
Camp Oakhurst is hiring energetic, friendly staff to work along side international staff with youth and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. Camp is located on the Jersey Shore, only one hour away from New York City and Philadelphia. Local access to mass transportation is easily accessible. We are only blocks from the beach, cinema, and other entertainment. We are a sleep-away camp for 10 weeks beginning June 19. Staff is responsible for the personal care and general camp counselor duties for campers age 8 to adulthood. Campers and staff participate in a range of traditional camp activities. Experience with personal care is preferred but not required. Training is provided. Counselors must be over 18 and willing to challenge themselves for the summer to make a difference in the life of someone with a physical or developmental disability.

Title: Residential Specialist
Purpose: Under the supervision of the Residential Coordinator the Residential Specialist is responsible for the shift coverage and clinical intervention to clients in a group home setting.
Requirements: Possession of High School Diploma or GED, one year’s experience working in a related field, valid driver’s license, and minimum age of 18 years old. The following trainings perferred (Medications, Abuse & Neglect, Overview, FIrst Aide, and CPR)
Responsibilities: The Residential Specialist is responsible for the following but not limited to the specific responsibilities:
• Assist in the formulation of IHP’s;
• Establish and maintain working relationships with families, guardians, case managers, and other interested persons;
• Assist Consumers in the overall operation of the home to ensure the house is clean and in good order;
• Shop for food as designated by the Residential Coordinator;
• Assist Consumers with self – help and grooming skills, laundry, and domestic chores;
• Respond to emergency situations as directed by the Residential Coordinator;
• Participate in ongoing training to learn various behavior management methods and techniques;
• Assist with medical care of consumers including transportation, pick – up of prescription, communication of medical information, etc;
• Assist with meal planning / preparation;
• Be available to Consumers and staff on a 24 hour basis during emergencies;
• Ensure that the house is properly secured for the night;
• Provide training in the area of bedtime readiness;
• Ensure that the Consumers are in the bed at a reasonable hour, properly bathed, and readied;
• Complete household cleaning as designated by the Residential Coordinator;
• Record significant shift happenings and observations in the daily log;
• Be responsible for group home laundry, and for Consumers’ laundry as assigned;
• Monitor each Consumer and attend to Consumers’ needs throughout the night;
• Complete a daily medication count;
• Waken the Consumers at an appropriate morning hour;
• Train and supervise Consumers around morning outlines;
• Review the implantation of the IHP and monitor continuing IHP development;
• Administer medication, record the administration of medication in accordance with DDD guidelines. Assists the Residential Coordinator with continuous monitoring of medication administration procedures;
• Requirement to cooperate with the licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigation;
• Assure that each Consumer is free from physical or mental abuse;
