Brooklawn Citizens Were Sold Out ! (Brooklawn)

Borough of Brooklawn
Sale of Borough Owned Property
Blk #11 / Lot #13
500 Chestnut - 3 Bedroom Single Family Home

06/05/00 - Brooklawn Boro - Sale to - Karadonis - @ $34,500

01/02/03 - L & EF Ent. LLC - Sale to - LE Ent. LLC - @ $1

01/02/04 - LE Ent. LLC - Sale to - L & EF Ent. LLC - @ $1

09/13/06 - L & EF Ent. LLC - Sale to - Lombardi - @ #134,900

1. Why was this Boro property sold despite vehement objection by a majority of the Borough Council in CY 2000?
2. What happened to public records related to this sale?
3. Why wasn’t a minimum bid/sale price in place to protect the Borough’s financial interest in this property?
4. Why was the property assessment lowered from $109,000 to $73,500 on October 21, 2002?
5. No home improvements were reported or recorded to support this massive appreciation in value! That is, more than $100,000, or 390%.
6. Has any member of this Council ever had a financial interest and/or business relationship with entities or individuals involved in this chain of transactions? (Karadonis? Karolitis?)
7. By predisposition, agenda, and strategy, someone in this path of $1.00 transactions made a slick $100,000 profit at the expense of the citizens of Brooklawn.

REF Pine Hill Council Meeting (PINE HILL NJ)

I have to beg to differ with you about the Police Department paying for legal counsel for Sergeant Grieco. They are paying for THEIR OWN legal counsel, and Sgt.Grieco is paying for HIS OWN legal counsel. Don't believe me? Contact the FOP lodge in Berlin and ask them how many $$$ they are offering to Sgt.Grieco for his legal fees. The answer is NONE! Get YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

WOULD U VOTE? (gtwp)

Just interested in knowing if anyone would consider voting for someone with no political backround? For any office. I'm so tired of being screwed over by career politicians and their friends. I would love to have a chance at office just to show them how the normal people want to be represented!!!! I would love to see someone that hasn't been corrupted by years of lying and scheming get a chance to fix things. I am considering running for an unspecified office in the near future. Trust me, I am no fool. I know it can't be an easy job, but the best thing to do is realize that, BEFORE you run for office. Just interested if anyone would follow a regular, middle-classed, blue-collar citizen into a run for office? Hey, if not, I understand. But guess what, our elected officials in New Jersey aren't exactly doing a stellar job so far! Maybe we should try a new idea? Thanks for listening.

Pine Hill Borough Council Meeting 11/16/09 Support Sergeant Grieco!!! (Pine Hill)

I posted this in the local news section and was flagged...Maybe this is the correct place to post this....PINE HILL RESIDENTS, STAND UP TO YOUR GOVERNING BODY AND DEMAND TO KNOW WHY YOUR TAX $$$$$$ ARE BEING SPENT TO PAY ATTORNEYS TO TERMINATE SERGEANT PAUL GRIECO A 17 YEAR OFFICER!!!!!

Please Grant this wish for my best friend and her family!

E-mail from Ralph (info@nader.org)

The House of Representatives debate on the health insurance “reform” is over with the Democrats failing the people and the Republicans disgracing themselves as having left their minds back in the third grade (with apologies to third graders).

House Democrats were determined to pass any bill with a nice sounding name, such as “The Affordable Health Care for America Act”. Single payer, full Medicare for all was never on the table even though a majority of citizens, physicians and nurses support that far more efficient, free choice of health care professionals, system.

There are no effective cost containment or prevention measures in the bill. The public option is so weak it will be a receptacle for the sickest of patients among the meager number of people who qualify for its coverage. There are no provisions to reduce the number of people (100,000) who die annually from medical malpractice in hospitals.

Nor is there a major program to reduce the tens of billions of dollars that is stolen yearly out of Medicare from criminals inside and outside the medical profession.

The cover story in the November issue of the AARP Bulletin is on the elaborate but detectable schemes to swindle Medicare with phantom services, phony rentals of equipment, stolen Medicare numbers and the like. The author, Jay Weaver, writes: “So lucrative, and so low-risk, the FBI reports, that a number of cocaine dealers in Florida and California have switched from illicit drugs to Medicare fraud.”

Although more money is finally going for prosecutions, there is nowhere near enough for this corporate crime wave. Medicare’s office of Inspector General asserts that every dollar of law enforcement will save $17 of theft.

Computerized billing fraud and abuse takes anywhere from $250 billion to double that estimate by the General Accounting Office. (The GAO said ten percent of health care expenditures are going down the drain.) The reason why the estimates cover such a broad range, according to Professor Malcolm Sparrow of Harvard University, is that there are inadequate resources to document the huge hemorrhaging of the nation’s health care budget and come up with better data.

Apart from the impoverishment of the debate, there is the actual doing of harm. The bill, if enacted, doesn’t take effect until after the presidential elections in 2013, mostly to let the drug and health insurance industries adjust, though they can scarcely believe their good fortune at being delivered all those profitable customers paid for by taxpayers with scarcely any price restraints.

The Journal of Public Health has just published a peer-reviewed study by Harvard physicians-researchers that estimates 45,000 Americans lose their lives yearly because they cannot afford health insurance to receive diagnosis and treatment. Strange how cool the House is to giving these fatalities a four year pass.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), a leading single payer advocate, voted against this legislation for many reasons, most notably the Obama-driven omission of his amendment to clear the way legally for states to pass their own single payer laws. Several states, such as Pennsylvania, are in the process of moving legislation in this direction, but are concerned that the health insurers will claim federal pre-emption.

The victims of medical malpractice – estimated by the Institute of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health to be about 100,000 deaths a year – escaped having to overcome more hurdles before they have their full day in court. Helping to beat back the Republicans, who define “medical malpractice reform” as letting the negligent perpetrators get away with their lethal consequences, was Congressman Bruce Braley (D-IA).

Rising on the House floor he delivered a factual plea for patient safety. Hardly had he started to speak with Republicans started shouting “trial lawyer, trial lawyer” referring to his previous profession of representing wrongfully injured people before local juries in Iowa. This rare display of shouting by opponents was punctuated by one of their unleashed members rushing down the aisle shouting “You’ll pay for this.”

During this overall debate on the bill, Republicans stood up one by one, as prevaricatory dittoheads, to often scream and howl (like coyotes) that this is “a government takeover of one sixth of the economy,” “would destroy the economy,” “put 5.5 million people out of work,” “destroy the doctor-patient relationship,” “be a steamroller of socialism,” “force millions of seniors to lose their current health coverage” (meaning, Medicare?) and, in a passionate appeal to the Almighty, Congressman John Fleming (R-LA) declared “God help us as the government takes over your day-to-day life.”

Never mind that this bill is just an expansion, however misdirected, of government health insurance designed to increase corporate profits and increase the corporate grip over the day-to-day decisions regarding who, when and how people get their health care or get their bills paid.

To top off the madness, Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT), an ever maturing political hermaphrodite, reneged on his assurance to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and imperiously announced on Fox News Sunday that “if the public option plan is in there, as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote.”

For media-centric Joe, his motto seems to be “L’Senat c’est moi.”

Rob Andrews (Tax an Spend NJ>)

Its time to send this life long politician home. We pay him a great salary of approx. 175,000 dollars per year an for what. The people of south Jersey need to find some person who will listen an represent us, not another demcratic puppet who jumps every time one of the Norcross brothers tells him to. Today is the day he made in his health care speech. This bill is just another pile of shit that he says he read, but i have to see it with my own eyes. Enough of these fake politicians , first it was the stimulus an we see how well thats working. Next it was the spending bill loaded with wateful spending. Then the bank bailouts an there still giving huge bonuses to executive, then the auto bailouts another waste of our tax dollars. Now the health insurance companies will make billions insuring the whole country, sounds like a good deal for some one .Next will be cape an trade a small buisness killer or tax so people like ROB ANDREWS can keep wasting our tax dollars in the name of good for all Americans. He is a PELOSI, OBAMA PUPPET lets show him the door. HEY ROB FANNIE AN FREDDIE NEED ANOTHER 20 BILLION, CHUMP CHANGE FOR YOU OR SHOULD I SAY US IM SURE YOU WILL BE JUST FINE WITH THAT

Re: Christie or Corzine? (sj)

Well, governor Corzine certainly looks fit, but if waist size is a determining factor, then perhaps we should beware of the skinnies?

NJ has been #1 in so many unfavorable categories not since yesterday, he knew it when he came in - and what has he done to change that? I don't see any improvement. Where are the wonderful things he promised, if anyone cares to remember? I do! We are drowning in debt. I still have the privilege of paying the most obscene taxes in the entire country, highest insurance costs, and something I thought to be a strictly European phenomenon - taxes on taxes (here they're called "fees", in hope that the lemmings don't notice). Oh yes, and I pay to support the drug dealing, littering, swearing, very fit and healthy young men who spend their entire day on the street and once in a while entertain themselves by vandalizing my business, my vehicles and threaten me with physical violence if I dare protest - and no, this is not in Camden. I guess going to school, getting a degree and a job is for losers...

There's no such thing as free lunch; it may not come from your pocket, but there's always someone who pays for it.

Definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. No matter how much and how hard you beat your head against the wall - it won't move. But, boy, will your head hurt!

If someone beats me up me and tells me he'll beat me some more do I choose that person and continue taking the beating? Or do I choose someone who says very little? I certainly don't know that I won't end up getting beaten again, but I'll take my chances with the "mystery box" any day! Who knows, maybe he won't beat me after all? Hey, I know the other one will definitely hurt me!

Let's give the fat man a chance. If he does a poor job - in 4 years we kick him out and give the next person a chance. Vote! Whatever/whoever you believe in - that one day in a year you should have gone out to be heard! That's the only thing you can do to help yourself and others around you. There's not much to be happy about here, but I refuse to fall into the abyss of despair and negativity.

PS - Eat chocolate. It's good for you! Not everyone who overeats is fat, some are blessed with seemingly bottomless stomachs and astronomical metabolic rate, others are not - so don't judge by the looks. You'd be mighty surprised if you saw me!

Baaa Baaa Baaa!

AARP another group of idiots (South Jersey)

I'm seeing in the news that AARP is going to endorse the democratic health care plan. You would think that a group designed for 50 year olds and up would have acquired some wisdom that once the government gets involved in something it is going to become corrupted and taxes are going to go up. I guess it's good to bend over and say hey! please find some way to raise my taxes. Look how just in your town how the police are being instructed to give out more frivoulous tickets because they are broke and need revenue. If they don't they may get laid off or the won't be able to hire any more police officers. Fact there is never a cop around when you need one. try to prove that wrong. This is just an example of how government works on a smaller scale. Does this country need more government? They are the ones in charge and have collapsed our economy and they want to grow. If this underestimated healthcare plan gets passed it is going to open Pandoras box and be the biggest tax increase scam in history. It's going to create departments of this and that that do nothing like the SEC, FTC and so many more. People that get 65k to 120k salaries plus full benefits that very rarely do anything. The healthcare plan is a scam and once it's passed then they have the power to ammend it and they will as they bankrupt it with the corruption that history clearly shows. Wise up people or just sit back and watch your standard of living dropping and dropping. Don't fall for the propaganda that these stimulus' and governemnt healthcare is good for you and that our children and grandchildren are going to be paying for this. It's happening now! Your property values have dropped dramatically and your taxes should be going down but they are not plus they are going to hit us with taxes for the healthcare plan.

Gloucester township voters are the dumbest (south jersey(gloucester township))

Way to go voters, you voted out the only non corrupt Mayor this town has had in a long time. Mayor Hatton ran for Mayor to make a difference in the comunity that she lived in all her life. She wasn't looking to this position to be a stepping stone for a future political office. She devoted much of her personal time to the job, and did it well. The facts are, she froze her salary, and refused a taxpayer funded car. Mayor Hatton was faced with a difficult job, and unfortunately was a minoraty in the DEM Gloucester Township government. The council fought her on most every proposal and idea. They turned their attention to partisan politics and pulled the wool over the taxpayers' eyes. The Mayer team spent millions of dollars for a job that pays just over 50k a year. Just wait and see what you fools voted in.

The people have spoken! (Jersey)

Christie or Corzine?

I pretty much agree both candidatse don't seem to get it.
I guess whoever seems to be the best of two evils will win. I just think the Republicans have proved how out of it they are and offer NJ nothing different. I mean look at Christie, it seems like he eats well right? I wonder how much he really cares about NJ.

New Jersey Resorts wil be Underwater (Republicans don't believe)

if global warming continues to worsen or at least the Republicans are constantly not willing to do much. This is especially important in New Jersey a tourist state. If the republicans win, they will ignore any sane rational solutions to counter global warming. This is one reason Christie Whitman was forced to resign..although thats a point of contention.

Re:Anybody but Christie

Are you blind. Corzine has actually made this state worse than it was before he was in office, and that's not an easy thing to do. The Dems are going to bankrupt this country, and our children will be stuck with the results. The republicans are as bad as the dems, but at least they know how to create jobs.
the fact is, we need a real candidate. If these 2, or 3 if you count Dagget, are the best this state can come up with, we are in big trouble.
Look at you tax bill. How can Obama look tax payers in the face and tell us that Corzine is cutting property taxes. I see my tax bill...are you blind. Now they want 400Mil more to line there greedy pockets with. Vote no question 1. I say to He77 with them all. If you think these guys care about your best interest, think about this...Corzine has spent 3 Mil of his own money to secure a job that pays 145K a year. Hogwash, they're all a bunch of crooks. best bet was Steve Lonangan, but we can't have an honest person in office. That would spoil everything.
SOME ONE SHOW ME A REAL CANDIDATE. these guys piss away money like it growns on trees.

Anybody but Christie

How can anyone, in their right mind, vote for a Republican? These people have no conscience. Ever listen to a Republican? Do you hear their outright contempt for working people? If you want big corporations to wreak havoc on New Jersey just like they did to the USA then vote for Christie. They are the ones funding his campaign. They are the ones who will get all the tax breaks. A balanced budget? That's a joke. The only way they will balance it is by depriving us of funds so their big wall street fat cats can get a larger share. Christie is loser. He reminds me of Bush. I don't know how you get up in the morning and vote for that.

Never vote Republican. Wise up, New Jersey. Vote Corzine or the other guy. Please.

Re: Voting for Christie is like votingfor Bush (Vote against the Republicans!)

Now if it was Christi Whitman I think NJ would do well to vote for her.But she is not running. You guys need a good dose of polluted air from Republicans which they claim isn't causing global warming. I hope if Christie Gets Elected your prepared for 4 years of destruction for NJ environment . Corzine actually tried to reduce the defecit.. He didnt' cause it. But anyway if you think Christie is good, then obviously you missed how Bush complely ruined everything in the country before Obama..

Tree Hugger (Bordentown City)

I am a Prince St resident and I would like to bitch about a tree in the 300 block of my st. I have been calling city hall for the last 5 moths trying to get this matter resolved and have gotten zilch.
The women I have talked to in city hall are useless. The rarely answer the phone and when they do they are rude. One time they pushed me off to the public works department and nobody ever answers
the phone there. The problem is there is a very large tree in front of my house and it has damaged the drains in my house and my neighbors house. The tree also protrudes out onto the street and it makes
it very difficult to park in front of it. Parking is a premium on our st, escpecially with most of them being handicapped parking spots. And I think most of them should be reviewed by the city.
So who can I contact to get this matter resolved since my own town leaders don't seam to have any control within city hall?

RE: VOTING FOR CHRISTIE IS LIKE VOTING

You are obviously in a COMA! and are one reason we are in the predicament we are in now. Did bush do perfect no way! But remember it was democracks like your self Who voted in the communist congress we have now! DO YOUR RESEARCH AND PUT YOUR BRAIN IN GEAR BEFORE YOU START TO MOVE YOUR LIPS. Barney Frank , Franklin Rains ,and Maxine Waters. I think are the ones that should be burned at the stake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets blame Bush and the Republicans (What happened to Whitman)

people forget fast. I hope they remember Chrissi Whitman how the republicans forced her out at the epa.

I think every states unemployment (republicans in control)

is near record levels not just New Jersey and that says more about the Republicans control of dirty energy and wars for oil then it does about Governor. Obama has only been in control for 9 months?

Voting for Christie is like voting (For Bush)

The republicans completely ruined this country, don't forget that

Will Christie Put More Oil Wells (off shore?)

If its Republican you can kiss your clean state goodbye

Cute Town! (Bordentown City)

I was in your town recently to visit some old friends for the Cranberry Festival. We had a great time roaming around, seeing all of the history and eating the great food. One thing did stand out
though and I thought it needed to be addressed. There is gross negligence within the Police Force. I never in my life saw such an obese Police Department in my life. How in the heck do the residents expect them to respond to a call which would require some physical conditioning. Lets say to rescue a fire victim or pursue a thief . And by the way, I would assume the guys in the white shirts assume some sort of leadership role? Looks like they are the biggest offenders! No pun intended! The police are the most visible entity a town has! And if an outsider can attest to their negligence, then it must start at the top!

Republican Legislature gutted Environment Funding (Forget Christie)

In Pa. Rendell had to sign on to it which shows he really don't care as much as for the environment as he claims.
Still if Rendell is not the greatest , the Republicans are worse. I am not so sure what it is about Jersey that keeps many of your cities with clean air but I assure you, you don't want any Republican coming in to gut whatever greatness you have in Jersey with the environment.

Eyesore in my town (Bordentown City)

Since everyone seems to be taking shots i guess it is my turn!
There is a new building project on the corner of Park and Second. I live in the vacinity and I want to know whats going ! There project has been halted for more than six months
and it is a complete eyesore for the town. There is a lake in the back of the property and the building appears to be completely unprotected. I constantly have to call the police
becuase there are kids rooting around the property and the doors are always left unsecure.
Can someone tell me who is in charge of the Contruction Dept. Is the builder Bankrupt? It seems like the same old crap in this town! I have made several calls to city hall and nothing gets done! Nobody in city hall seems to care!
I bet if this project was on Union St. there would be different results! Can somone please help me crack the whip!
