Local indie movie 'Dick in the Dirt' needs extras on March 14! (Spokane Valley)
You may have seen my earlier post - if not, I'm making an indie film called "Dick in the Dirt" - it's Blaxploitation meets Women-in-Prison.
We've got a fantastic lead actress, and all the major parts are filled, but we need some extras for the prison yard scene.
The next day of filming is Sunday, March 14, that's the day we need some extras. The shoot will happen at the industrial park in Spokane Valley, off Sullivan. All you would have to do is show up, maybe get a fake tattoo drawn on your arm, and stand around looking like a badass. Obviously we can only use women, since it's a women-in-prison film :) The prison uniform is just jeans and a stenciled wife-beater tanktop. We'll supply the tanktop, if you can show up in jeans. Flip-flops would be a plus, otherwise sneakers are fine. Oh and BIG earrings, if you got em.
There is not much of a budget, so one is getting paid, but there will be a big BBQ for everyone who participated when it's finished (my BBQs rule, arrangements will be made for non-meat eaters), and then we'll rent a theater for the premier.

Film Description:
"Margret is being held against her will in a mysterious hospital. Her sister Anne undertakes a 'mission' to break her out... But when it comes to Anne's motives for breaking her sister out, not everything is as it seems."
Characters Needed:
Anne
Pretty blonde able to portray between 18 and 23 y.o., and not look older than the character Margret. Anne has lived her whole life with her sister Margret having some sort of 'unnamed psychic ability.' Anne has witnessed her sister use her powers to (among other things) force her mother to kill her father. She has also been the victim of Margret's emerging powers. These experiences have made her resourceful, self-reliant, and somewhat aloof, believing that she can trust no one but herself.
Antique Store Owner
Older gentleman anywhere between 50 and 75 y.o. 'Grandfatherly' in nature. As this is a 'no-budget' production, preference will be given to the actor who can bring his own wardrobe.
Beat Cop
Man between 25 and 35 y.o. More-or-less the rookie beat cop. Character will be wearing the standard 'cop blue' uniform. Character has a couple of funny lines, so some sense of comic timing in the actor is preferred.
Detective
Man between 40 and 60 y.o. Fairly stereotypical suit-and-tie wearing 'veteran detective' who's seen 'everything.' As this is a 'no-budget' production, preference will be given to the actor who can bring his own wardrobe.
Handsome Orderly
Man between 25 and 35 y.o. As part of his job this character would be handling unruly patients on a daily basis so while it is not necessary that he be 'totally ripped,' he will need to look and carry himself as someone who can handle a misbehaving patient with little trouble. Production will provide scrubs for the actor who gets the part.
Margret
Pretty brunette who can portray 25 y.o. The character of Margret has some sort of 'unnamed psychic ability' which she used as a teen to (among other things) force her mother to kill her father, emotionally torture her younger sister (Anne), etc. She has also endured torture of her own at the hands of unscrupulous doctors who have experimented on her over the years. All of this has made her fragile, vulnerable... and very dangerous. Although we don't really see Margret use her 'powers' during this short film, the actor playing her will need to be able to tap into and portray fear, tears and guilt in a 'non-campy' way. Preference will be given to the actor who can cry on cue. This actor will need to feel comfortable spending the entire production in a hospital nightgown, and as the part will require brief nudity for one shot (her rear-end in a hospital gown) she needs to be at least 18 y.o. This may be negotiable to 'wearing modest panties under the hospital gown' if the 'perfect actress for the part' has objections...
Mysterious Man
Man between 50 and 75 y.o. A suit-and-tie wearing bureaucrat, essentially a hospital administrator. Needs to have some sense of 'menace' about him, as he is essentially in charge of a hospital that has no qualms about experimenting illegally on abducted patients. This character will need to be able to smoke a cigarette or cigar convincingly. As this is a 'no-budget' production, preference will be given to the actor who can bring his own wardrobe.
Night Watchman
Man between 30 and 50 y.o. I could see this part going 'either way' in terms of the 'portly' night watchman, or the 'buff' night watchman. Mostly will be seen in silhouette. As this is a 'no-budget' production, preference will be given to the actor who can bring his own wardrobe.
