Beach Lifeguards:
Applicants must be able to perform a variety of water related and lifesaving duties. Pre-season training begins late May 2010. Requirements: current Lifeguarding Certifications, (lifeguarding w/open water experience preferred). First Aid, CPR for Professional Rescuer certifications completed. Positions do require evening & weekend shifts.
Day Camp: Jr. Counselors, Counselors, Unit Director:
Applicants must be able to work with children (ages 5-13 yrs.) in an outdoor environment, leading active games, crafts, swimming and nature activities based on weekly themes.
All Jr. Counselors, Counselors and work under the supervision of the Unit Directors. Unit Directors work under the supervision of the Recreation Manager. Must enjoy working with children and have the ability to communicate, organize & supervise activities for 5 -13 year olds effectively. Candidates must also have the ability to attain First Aid and CPR certification within the first month after the start of camp. Must be able to hike a minimum of 1 mile and bike a minimum of 2 miles and be an active participant in games that may require running, jumping and climbing.
Additional Requirements for Camp Unit Director: Must be at least 21 years old. 2 years of supervisory experience with organized youth programs preferred. Assist in the planning, coordinating, and leadership of activities. Purchase, secure, and maintain equipment and materials weekly. Ideal candidate can perform a variety of duties independently with limited supervision and interact appropriately with the public. Must be organized, team oriented, and safety conscious.

Requirements

Education — Each applicant must be a graduate of a U.S. education program granting a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and accredited by the appropriate state board of nursing or the National League for Nursing.
Licensing — Each applicant must be licensed, in good standing, and currently engaged in nursing practice.
Age — Candidates should be at least 18 and no older than 40 years of age at the time of their appointment. Maximum age limits may be waived on a case-by-case basis, depending on qualifications and the needs of the Navy Reserve.
