Mustangs are a breed. A Mustang is a free-roaming feral horse of the North American west that first descended from horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish. Mustangs are often referred to as wild horses, but the more correct term is feral horses.

I hate when people point out spelling problems to others. I have dyslexia have never really been able to spell very well. However, I am very smart have as long as I was allowed to take oral tests I was always at the top of my class. Please do not pass judgment on others you don't know what there circumstances are!

update Deer Park Dog Evacuation (Deer Park and beyond)

This letter is in regards to a report from Tim Rasmussen, our Steven's County Prosecutor.
This is a quote from his March 3rd report.

"On Friday, March 25, after three days of trial, a jury convicted Pam Deskins of Wallbridge Road in Deer Park, on four charges: Harassment, Confining animals in an Unsafe Manner, Animal Cruelty in the Second Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. These are misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor charges."

On February 28th my husband and I entered the property on behalf of the dogs, with permission. When we went in to take pictures, we knew we were in over our heads. We put the word out over the computer, and seasoned dog rescue folks came to the aid of these dogs.

The following Monday, we went in to do inventory on the dogs, on Tuesday, plans were made, for rescues and fosters for these dogs. There were about 55 dogs on the property, most of them not used to being handled. We witnessed a heroic effort by these dedicated rescue folks, and help from the Spokane Humane Society.

We had to get them out before Friday, because of a court order to do so, or the Sheriff would handle this situation. They could not to go Spokanimal, we were told because Steven's County had not been able to pay the contractual bill. Their fate would not have been good.

On Thursday morning, we all went in, and loaded the dogs up and got them to the shelter, where they spent the night, meanwhile folks drove from all over the state to take these dogs to a safer place.

There were good stories and bad stories that came from this.

Some had immediate surgery because they had been left with painful unattended conditions. Many of the female dogs were pregnant; two are in foster care in Spokane waiting for them to whelp.

This was an impressive feat that came together in four short exhausting days. The work is still being done; there are still surgeries, spaying, neutering, shots, worming, training, and teaching these dogs to trust again.

Because Steven's county has no funding to help these dogs, I'm asking for those of you who can, to donate.

Male Pomeranian (West Plains)

I have a male Pomeranian, I need to find a good home for. He will be three years old this May. Max has not been neutered. He weighs around 12 pounds, very over weight. Max was my daughters pet, she moved to the east coast in February, and could not take him with her. I do not have the time to take care of him. He does not like my younger son and barks at him when he is around. Max is friends with me, and seems to like women, although my older son has made friends with him, by offering him treats. He uses our dog door and gets along well with my other dogs. Once in a while, I catch him trying to go in the house. So he will need some work there. On the whole, Max is a pretty nice dog. I do not know, how he would do around younger children, because everyone that lives here are adults. My daughter has his hair cut short. If you could give Max a good home, email me and let me know. Cairn Mix needs new home (crate available) (Spokane Valley)

Wee Grendel is young Cairn Terrier mix, female, approximately two years old, about 15 pounds, housebroken, spayed, microchipped, has all her shots. We've had her about five months, and she is a doll. She just has more energy than I can handle. I'm not disabled, but I don't get around very well. Grendel deserves someone who can enjoy walking and playing with her.

She is very friendly, great with other dogs, great with kids. She must go to someone who has a yard so she can run. She is used to being outside during the day. We will not let her go to an apartment situation. She needs room to roam in a fenced yard.

Asking $70 rehoming fee to assure serious parties only. We also have a wire crate that breaks down for transport, has molded bottom tray and attachable water bowl. Asking $35 for crate alone, or will combine for $80. It would be nice for her to have the crate she's used to.

Husky/Perinese Puppy (Post Falls Area)

Great dog needs loving, active home. He is 10 months old, mixed breed-Husky/Great perinese. He needs a home with a large fenced yard or acreage to run, has lots of energy and will require an active owner who likes hiking, running, long walks to help wear him out. He gets along well with my older dog and cat, the cat doesn't think he is all that great because he wants to play with her and she ends up
wet. He doesn't know a stranger, to him everybody is his friend, especially the pizza delivery guy-he loves pizza! He is housebroke but is still in the the puppy chewing stage, so he thinks the throw rugs are tasty and its great to toilet paper the house while we are gone, so far he hasn't acquired a taste for furniture. He loves sticks, basketballs and most toys, regular doggy chew toys only last him 20 minutes though. He is a beautiful tan, cream, with a hint of black, furry energizer bunny. Hi my name is Seth, my mom and I recently lost our home of seventeen years to a devastating fire. We resided at 204 w. 13th. street in PF Id. We are temporarily staying at the Sleep Inn. I am thankful that aside from losing my home nobody was hurt and my dog is able to be with me. He is my very best friend. However he got injured during this time and needs immidiate attention which I at this time feel financially helpless and very scared. my friend (Sparks), got his tail caught in the door almost cutting it off and exposing the bone. Need new home for pair of parakeets and pair of finches! (Spokane)

Allergies are forcing us to give up two of our parakeets and a pair of finches. The parakeets are hand trained. Female is yellow and 6years, male is blue and is 1 yr. Both very active and enjoy time out of the cage. The finches are zebra finches, and are both under a year, I l believe. All birds are very healthy. The parakeets need to go together, as well as the finches. But all of them don't need to go to the same home. I ask that you don't have a cat, or a dog that will try to eat them! Dachshund (maybe mix) found on south hill (37th and Ray)

If you own a dachshund dog on the South Hill, near 37th and Ray; please contact Spokanimal Emergency. I am sad to say that it was hit by a car on 37th and did not make it. My friend and I saw it and stopped; this was at 8:35 PM. By the time we got to the poor thing it was gone. We called Spokanimal's emergency dispatch and they were not able to come out then as it was after hours; however they gaurenteed us that someone would get it in the morning. We moved him/her off of the road and in a few sacks so he/she wouldn't be disturbed. If this is your dog, I'm really sorry for your loss. Hi Everybody, I was wondering if anyone had a shepherd/malamute now almost a year old puppy that was born around april 10th of last year? I got my puppy when he was around four months old and never got to see the rest of his litter. He has some fear and shyness issues and I was curious to see if it was genetic possibly. We have a FREE adorable sheltie puppy that need a great loving home. read this entire ad please! She has a heart murmur we are not sure how bad it is. Chances are this is just one of those murmurs that will never affect her!!! She will also need to be spayed as long as the vet says its safe with the murmur, in order to see if its safe she will need an ultrasound. She is super sweet, smart, and loving! She runs and plays with her brothers and sisters, you would never know she had a murmur. I have two male hamsters in seperate cages that need re-homed. I have three hamsters, two cats, and a puppy so two of the hamsters need to find homes. Both are very hand friendly and have been held and handled daily since we got them. They each come with a cage which has their wheels, water bottles, food dish's and houses. Max, the brown and white one does not like running in a ball, however the black one Rex does. They've never bitten and are really sweet little guys. Would be great for a kid. I'm asking $20 a piece or $35 if you want to take both. The cages alone are worth $15-$20 a piece.

Hi! I am fostering this kitten for one of the local shelters, she is due back this next week for her second round of shots and to get spayed. She will then be up for adoption. I didn't want her to sit too long at the shelter, so I thought I help her out by looking for a family on CL for her. I can have the shelter hold her for "Jane Smith" and give them the date and time you would be in to get her. She is a very sweet kitty, plays herself into sleepy time, and loves to cuddle. She wants to be on your neck all the time (nice and warm). She does have sharp claws that we are trying to teach her not to use so much! She was an outdoor kitten before we got her, and we have kept her solely indoor. She uses the potty box consistently and eats Purina Kitten Chow. We have 4 kids from 3-10, so she is very accustomed to children (just watch those claws). She would do better with a family that is home during the day, she reqiures alot of attention. She loves a laser pointer and little balls to chase around.
