INTERESTED IN A GREAT TEACHING OPPORTUNITY?
The Princeton Review is an international education company that provides integrated classroom-based, print and online products and services that address the needs of students, parents, educators and educational institutions. The Princeton Review Canada is the name of the Toronto branch that administers private tutoring and classroom instruction for the MCAT, LSAT, GMAT, SAT and GRE in locations throughout Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.
We are currently looking for highly skilled and highly motivated individuals to teach our MCAT programs held on campus in every major University City across Canada. Teaching for The Princeton Review is a fun and rewarding endeavour; you can take pride in knowing that you will really make a difference in your students’ scores and in the opportunities that are available to them.
THE POSITION – MCAT INSTRUCTOR
The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a computer-based standardized exam that tests students on their mastery of basic concepts in Biology, Physics, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Reading Comprehension for the purpose of admission to Canadian and American medical schools.
Our Permanent Part-time MCAT Instructor positions are ideal for full-time and part-time Med students or exceptional students studying any of the subjects that are part of the MCAT. Depending on a prospect’s background and academic excellence, he or she may be able to teach more than one MCAT subject at more than one location. Our classes meet right on local campus grounds, usually in the evenings and weekends during the school year and additional day classes over the summer months at major locations. The position is flexible as instructors can take on as much or as little as they want throughout the year, depending on their school commitments. We have classes across Canada so our instructors can still teach over the summer months if they happen to relocate to a different city.
THE PERKS
1. The time commitment varies and is flexible depending on the teaching location and instructor’s availability. Each course is roughly 8-10 hours per week, not counting additional prep time for first-time instructors.
2. Teaching rate starts at $23/hr; tutoring rate starts at $26/hr. These rates are negotiable depending on the prospect’s qualifications. Instructors are eligible for annual raises based on teaching performance.
3. Additional prep time spent outside of classroom hours is compensated at a rate of $9.50 /hr. (New instructors should expect to spend anywhere from 20-30 hours of prep time toward the first course. Prep time should reduce significantly with each additional course).
4. No grading!
5. Training is provided. Travel expenses for trainees attending training from outside of the Greater Toronto Area will also be compensated.
