Registration Clerk/Booker (western maryland)
Maintain and administer the material part numbering database. Expedite material purchase orders to ensure materials are received on or before the required due date. Create new parts numbers and part number catalog by researching new part number requests and entering valid requests into the database. Administer daily maintenance of the part numbering database which consists of updating existing parts to current standards, deleting unneeded parts and other duties related to maintaining a high standard of data accuracy. Follow established conventions and adhere to consistent input process. Make recommendations for improvements to the parts database and procedures. Expedite material on a daily basis. Contact suppliers to verify delivery dates will be met and expedite all overdue material. Resolve delivery issues and coordinate revised deliveries with the Craft Supervisors. Enter updated delivery information in the Material Status Report (MSR) and maintain on the U drive.
High school level education or better with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with materials used in ship repair operations. Efficient computer skills in Word, Excel and database management experience required. Persons with experience preferred.
