La Boheme is set in Paris in the period around 1830. It essentially focuses on the love between the seamstress called Mimě and the poet Rodolfo. They almost immediately fall in love with each other, but Rodolfo later wants to leave Mimě because of her flirtatious behavior. However, Mimě also happens to be mortally ill, and Rodolfo also feels guilt, since their life together likely had worsened her health even further. They reunite for a brief moment at the end before Mimě dies.
Opera in the Heights is a vibrant nationally and internationally acclaimed opera house that provides a stage for emerging opera performers and brings affordable opera to the Greater Houston Area. Auditions are held in Houston, and New York City.
Opera in the Heights identifies rising young stars, gives them an opportunity to sing a major role, and advance their careers. This season three of Opera in the Heights young stars moved on to the New York City Opera and Metropolitan Opera. Over 40 recognized singers credit Opera in the Heights as instrumental in their advancement.

Aug 3, 2010: HZM Ministries Leadership Meeting at Spring Board Ministries
HZM Ministries is now leading a monthly leaders meeting. Our theme for April is "Keeping Youth/Y.A. Active in Summer"
There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or city that did not begin in united prayer.
Realizing prayer, unity, and holiness are the very things that attract the presence of God, we petition the Lord to stimulate a renewed spiritual hunger in Houston.
The primary reason for this cooperation in prayer is to maintain, among the people of God, that necessity of prayer for the coming of Christ's Kingdom, which Christ directed his followers to do
Our vision is to fill up a high school stadium with people just coming together to pray for this city.
Pastor TC Villalobos, Francisco Pequino, & Worship by The Fathers House Praise Team
Our next meeting is Tue, May 4th at 8pm if you know anyone that will join us.
you can email me for details and to rsvp

Mar 25, 2010: Klezmer-Funk-HipHop fusion with Abraham Inc.! at Miller Outdoor Theatre
Some musical collaborations can't easily be described. Such is the case with Abraham Inc., an upbeat and unusual ensemble featuring three stellar -- if disparate -- musicians. David Krakauer is a brilliant, classical and klezmer clarinetist. Fred Wesley is an extraordinary trombonist and the longtime musical director for James Brown. Socalled is a "beat architect" and the man who calls the music "super hybrid monster music." The combination of klezmer, funk and hip-hop yields cross-cultural party music that has to be heard to be believed. Produced by Miller Theatre Advisory Board.Free, assigned seat tickets are available at the Miller Theatre Box Office on first-come first-serve basis while supplies last between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm on the day of the performance . Remaining tickets are given out one hour before curtain. Assigned, ticketed seats will be held until 5 minutes before the performance starts. Only four (4) tickets per person. TICKETS MAY NOT BE RESERVED BY PHONE. For information on maps, parking, etc., please consult the "Plan Your Visit" section of the Miller Outdoor Theatre Web site www.milleroutdoortheatre.com or call (281)373-3386. Mar 22, 2010: A Thousand Cranes, Prince Rama of Ayodhya and PC Worship at Club Notsuoh
"In the gnarled concrete proto-goth forests of Houston, Texas,Travis Kerschen, the lone enigmatic figure of A Thousand Cranes and
shamanic brother of Tex (chieftain of Indian Jewelry) builds a sonic
nest in a rotted out tree using woven bits of hair, bones, and teeth
of mummified monks held together by strings spun by the most venomous
of synth spiders and shards of glass shattered from the window of
infinity. A chime rings, a skull drum pounds, and a hypnotic voice
leads you towards your ultimate spodomancy to greet the mythical bird
that rises and swoops in an eternal dance with its falconer, landing
sometimes on the wrists of Jandek and Gang Gang Dance and yet refusing
the raw meat offered by either outstretched hand. The fragility of
flight is consumed by fire."
